I know that no-one knows exactly what the minimums are for the CFA. I was just wondering if anyone could speak from experience and tell me whether or not my scores will most likely be a "pass" or "fail".

B-ball throw: 72 ft
Pull-ups: 9
Shuttle Run: 9.0
Sit-ups: 85
Push-ups: 55
Mile run: 6:40

I know my scores are not great, but I am still working on them and will be taking the test soon. This is the last part of my application I have to complete.

You are fine. I took the CFA at NASS and got around the same scores, and my portal shows as qualified. As 5day mentioned, just turn them in and if you don't PASS, then all you have to do is take it again!

Good luck!

Okay, thanks for the advice from both of you! Good luck to you laxer. Hope to see you in Annapolis next summer.

Somebody here can help me?, my DD will apply to USMA, USNA, USAF and ROTC's as well. So, are the CFA valud for all 3 Academies?, and also did the PTA is the equivalento for all ROTC Branches, or she have to take 3 differents one per each?, can't find answers about this. Thank you.

I mean PFA

Each of the SAs has their own standards. For example, WP may place a higher minimum on the basketball throw. Practice, practice, practice. But your scores looked pretty good to IMO.

Ma'am,
Each service academy as RocketDad mention has their own standards of whether or not you will pass, however they are not that far from each other. The average scores for the CFA is a good goal to start with and exceeding the average doesn't hurt at all.

Now to answer your question, for the 3 academies, one CFA does count for all 3 academies. You will just either have to have your scores sent to each of the 3 academies (you won't have to take it 3 separate times). For example, I did mine at NASS and had those scores transferred over to Air Force and am now qualified there as well.

I would assume that the same is for ROTC programs, as it would seem very redundant as the assessments are the same for each of the services.

Best of luck!

You might need to ask about the physical fitness assessments for the ROTC programs to the respective offices. Army and Navy ROTC seem to have the same exact events....AFROTC seems to run 1.5 miles (instead of 1 mile) and do pull-ups. However, AFROTC specifically states they WILL NOT except scores from any other branch or service, including USAFA.

I know the CFA cannot be used for ROTC, period. As to whether the assessments between AROTC and NROTC are accepted...I think you will have to ask, unless someone else on here knows for certain. Marine option NROTC applicants perform the actual Marine PFT.

It is not the same for ROTC programs. If you are navy you take the PRT, MO the PFT, Army the APFT and air force the AFPFT? (I actually can't remember what they call air force's)

Co2020fb, that isn't the information I found on the respective ROTCs' website. I believe the question is related to the assessments required for entry into the program (not the fitness assessment taken within the ROTC program). NROTC is only a mile run...therefore it isn't a PRT, the AROTC is also a mile, not 2 miles...therefore it isn't a APFT. AFROTC's website isn't clear...they state there are 3 events but list 4. If pull-ups are no longer required then it is an AFPFT. Either way...it isn't consistent.
