LOA's are extremely rare. They mostly use them to fill "gaps" in the class, i.e. minorities and athletic recruits. I didn't get one with a 2200 SAT, 34 ACT, 3 sports, clubs, etc. Remember that the vast majority of people do NOT have a LOA.
