I just received the same exact e-mail today and have not been notified yet. My brother has also received the same e-mail and is appointed. So I think they are sending out the e-mail regardless of notification status.

DjSanguine is right, it does not matter which English teacher you pick, as long as it is recent. If memory serves correctly, I thought it said to receive evaluations from your 11th grade teachers. Pick the teacher that knows you the best and who can attest to your strengths.

My brother just recently got his LOA to USAFA, however he received a principal nomination so he got first dibs I guess. I'm pretty sure the panel is going to be sending out a lot more appointments to us California folk within the next few weeks.
