I just called and asked today, and we were there last week and heard the same thing - that MCW is open to more than just AROTC. Of course, never hurts verifying for yourself .

I called Norwich, and as far as I understand it, if you are in the Corps of Cadets, you have to attend 6 semesters of one of the ROTC options. If you choose Army, you can join the Ranger program. Mountain and Cold Weather is open to any of the three.

Thanks for the good info. It is as I thought but needed confirmation. I appreciate what you say about the followup and normally ds does all the work but he just had his wisdom teeth out and is out of commission for a bit with pain and percocet.

My ds put in the online application the same person for two items - his guidance counselor - for both the Candidate Activities Record and the Candidate Academic Information. When the guidance counselor verified the CAR, DS got an email. When the english teacher submitted the recommendation...

How long did it take after you made the payment until it showed on the portal? I used the pay.gov system for a credit card and it's been more than 24 hours and the portal doesn't reflect it. I did get the receipt from pay.gov so I know it went through. Thanks for any info
