    LOA's and Scholarship

So here's my dilemma, any advice would be greatly appreciated! As a four-year scholarship, MSI, AROTC cadet, I've been having trouble participating in ROTC activities (PT, MS class and Labs) due to a lack of transportation to my host unit. My school is approximately 50 miles away from the...

    ROTC and Semester Off

Thanks. I have read the contract. I failed to ask on my OP whether the cadet could remain on scholarship for that semester he wishes to be on LOA for personal hardship. The contract isn't clear on the matter but suggests that all benefits (including scholarship) are suspended during an LOA?

    ROTC and Semester Off

Is it possible for a four year scholarship AROTC cadet to take a semester off given that he has a legitimate reason?

    AROTC Contracting and Service Obligation

Goaliedad, while I do appreciate your insight and advice... Using your logic, why should any intelligent high school student work hard and make an effort to get into a top university? He would be better off doing nothing during his high school years, go to a community college and play big fish...

    AROTC Contracting and Service Obligation

Having done a tremendous amount of lurking on this board over the years, I recall coming across a thread similar to the question answered by Marist College ROTC. Unfortunately, I am in a brigade that I would argue is the weakest in terms of elite university membership. Transferring to my host...

    AROTC Contracting and Service Obligation

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answered my question. It seems like you guys did a pretty good job of figuring things out... Yes, I am a college cadet and I am currently reconsidering my decision to participate in ROTC. While the program has allowed me to attend a top tier...

    AROTC Contracting and Service Obligation

A high school senior is offered a four year scholarship. He contracts the first day he arrives at college/ AROTC. (Is contracting required to validate the scholarship?) Does he have the option of disenrollng from ROTC without service obligation if he decides to do so before his sophomore year if...

    Military Surplus

Hi everyone! Short introduction first... I applied USMA, triple Q qualified, didn't work out... and now I'm an ROTC cadet in the class of 2015! My battalion isn't too efficient with issuing cadets equipment and now I'm looking to purchase some of my own. Can anyone suggest a...

    Applying to SA Perks

So I didn't receive an appointment this year... Well on the bright side, it looks like I have plenty of work I can still salvage off my file. :thumb: I already wrote on my resumes that I participated in SLS as well as Boys' State. Would it be alright to mention to other colleges that I...

AROTC Scholarship Offers, What the heck?!

I recently checked my AROTC scholarship status online to find that I was offered scholarships to two relatively expensive, private, out of state schools (University of Southern California and Emory.) They were actually my top two choices. The problem is... I haven't been accepted for admissions...

    March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

ROTC2015, relax buddy. The fact that you have not received a letter from DODMERB chasing you down and reminding to get your exams done is not in any way a negative indicator. You need to remember that this is a very busy time for those folks. This year has probably been one of the most irregular...

    My ROTC Dilemna

So, I was QQQ qualified for West Point but not appointed (maybe it was because I submitted my file in February!) At any rate, now I've been accepted to one of the top public schools in my state(with the exception of WP). At the same time, I'm also on the waitlist of a couple second...
