    AROTC to USNA

it was always one of my favorite civilian universities, and at the time i accepted the admission i had intended not to reapply to NA. i had the choice to go to pitt, which is affiliated to CMU NROTC, but I felt that MSU was better if i got another TWE in the eventuality I did reapply

    AROTC to USNA

"even if AROTC cannot officially nominate to USNA, it just means you need to go back to your MOC to repeat what you did last year. Often MOCs are sympathetic to the candidate who is reapplying, and participating in ROTC as well. Have you considered enrolling in a University that DOES have...

    DODMERB time limit

Basically, I had a mild food allergy to peanuts until I was five, after which it dropped way off- now pretty much nonexistent. I reported it in the initial DoDMERB survey- they thought it was a current issue and said as much to me and USNA. I've never seen a doctor about this, much less had...

University Courses to Mimic Plebe Year

Can anyone tell me how close these course descriptions match the USNA plebe year calc and chem classes? (speaking in regards to admission from college) CEM141: General Chemistry- Elements and compounds; reactions; stoichiometry; thermochemistry; atomic structure; chemical bonding; states of...

    Repeat nom

    ROTC or academy?

Once in the military proper, how are officers from academies viewed compared to those who commissioned through ROTC? i.e. are there preferences for duty stations, promotions, etc.? Specifically interested in Army and Navy/Marines.

    DODMERB time limit

I know that DoDMERB physicals are good for two years. However, last year I reported a food allergy that afflicted me as a child and does not currently. I failed to get a waiver for this reason. Can I waive my old medical and get a new one reflecting my mistake correction from last year?

Just out of curiousity, is there any mid on this forum that did a year or two of college before transferring to USNA as a plebe? I'd really like to hear from you and get some insight into the situation.

    MSU to USNA

I'm a previous candidate to USNA. I did well, got my nominations, but was turned down at the last step (I suspect medical, but no specific reason was given). Either way, I'm now a political science major at Michigan State and an Army cadet there. I'm originally from CA-44th district, though...

    AROTC to USNA

I'm a previous candidate for USNA. I got my congressional nomination and everythinbg, but was turned down at the last step. I suspect my medical had something to do with, but I'm really not to sure. Either way, I've enrolled at Michigan State University. We don't have an NROTC unit, though...

    Army ROTC

So it is possible to do all four years of AROTC and serve the obligation as a Marine if I do the single ten-week course at Quantico junior year?

    Army ROTC

I'm enrolling in optional Army ROTC courses at Michigan State this fall, starting without a contract. I'd hoped to go Marine but MSU does not have a Navy unit. Does anyone know if there is a precednt for or a possibility of signing a service obligation with my Army ROTC battalion and being...

    NROTC question

NROTC transfers I just had my interviews for the NROTC MCO and the Mar. Cpt. in charge said in his briefing that the battalion commander can talk to the school's admissions office and they will usually work something out. If not, transfer is almost always available for those situations.

    Several curiosities

Two things- 1. USNA or NROTC at four-year civilian university? Which is better/more enjoyable/etc.? (Input from midshipmen greatly valued here!) 2. How is the professional training at West Point compared to USNA? I know both are SA's, but it seems that USMA has a lot more hands-on military...
