Dodmerb Qualification - How long does it last ?

Quick question - I was qualified by Dodmerb at the end of 2011 as part of the process of applying to the USNA. I didn't get into the academy, nor did I rcv an NROTC scholarship. I am now a freshman at Cornell and have both reapplied for the 3 years scholarship and received it. Do I need to...

NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

Thanx for adding me & starting the list There's comfort in knowing I'm not alone  as we get down to the deadline its getting harder and harder to believe the 'no news is good news' encouragement we keep hearing ... just feelings horribly like being the last one picked for the team ...

NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

Anybody still waiting since June ? Yup, you read right, I submitted my full application, confirmed complete with interview et al, mid June 2011 ... right before heading into session # 3 of NASS ... and I'm STILL waiting ... and yes, its IS killing me, but what other choice do I have ? TWE at...

    NROTC transfer

a little extra info to add to the mix don't have any firm data on that, but I have heard around that forum that there are still two boards to go with the last one on April 26 (all scuttlebutt, don't know if its firm fact or not) and then they'll issue the 'final decisions' (supposed deadline...

NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

don't mean to be disrespectful but ... don't mean to be disrespectul but ... if you already know that your DS is going to the Naval Academy (ie: has received an appointment) couldn't you leave that NROTC scholarship possibility to somebody else rather than keep it in reserve as a back-up plan ...

Any info out there re: who got the VP Nomination ?

I took SAMom's advise and wrote my admissions counselor an email explaining the mail issue ... first time ever the Academy answered back within the day ... wish it'd been better news :frown: ... guess there's a TWE in my future and the VP Nom went elsewhere. At least I know now though and can...

Official Naval Academy Class of 2016 Appointment Thread

Kathyh, I recommend writing your admissions officer and explaining the mail issue ... that's what I did yesterday ... be prepped for the answer though, in my case it wasn't good :frown: ... there is a TWE in my future, but at least I know now instead of 2 weeks from now and I can move forward.

NROTC version of "Anyone still waiting out there?"

Method of Decision Communication ? Does anybody know how the decisions go out ? ie: mail, email, phone, carrier pigeon  I've been checking the NROTC status page for days now, but on another thread of this forum somebody stated that the Naval Academy CIS only reports if all the pieces...

Official Naval Academy Class of 2016 Appointment Thread

anything we can do besides wait by the post box ? Now that the CIS is closed 'til the 10th ... I've lost my one way to check on nominations status ... since I live in Italy and the post is anything but reliable and takes WAY too long ... anybody have any advise about who to call re: information...

Any info out there re: who got the VP Nomination ?

I'm a candidate from overseas who had 'nowhere else to go' but to apply for the VP nomination. I know I'm triple qualified at the Academy, got on the 'short-list' for the VP and I have not, as of today, rcv'd any formal notification from the Academy as to whether a TWE is on the way or not...

    incredible but true ...

good questions all ... to answer pima's last questions i need to take a step back : Mom's American ... has lived in Italy for 24 years. Dad's Italian, born and bred in Italy, but he immigrated with his family to Canada many moons ago where he went to college, did his military service...

Social Security Actually, my siblings and I all have social security numbers requested in the US and not by the embassy as strangely enough, they weren't assigned automatically by the Embassy, but only requested later on by my grandmother. That's how I know they were requested in Vermont. I...

    incredible but true ...

not so lucky ... That's what I was told as well for USNA (that it was up to the Congressional / Senator's office) but the Congressman's & Senator's staff keep telling me that they need to check with the Academy first ... and then after they check, the answer is always no. To top it off, I was...

    incredible but true ...

As a US citizen born and bred outside the continental US (in Italy) I basically ONLY have access to the VP nomination (nope - no military personal active or otherwise in my family tree ... Grandpa was in the Air Force, but grandparents don't seem to count :frown:) and despite encouragement by...

Authorization for DoD to discuss ...

just wanted to be sure ... They only sent instructions re: the medical examination form and that really only pertains to the doctor's part in it all (no instructions re: medical history or extra questionnaire). And although it does, as you mention, state that its re: authorizing others to...

Authorization for DoD to discuss ...

Can someone give me an idea as to whom I am supposed to authorize ? Is this for me to allow the DoD to share my medical info with my parents or with the Academy and ROTC ? If the later, how do I find out who the pertinent person is ? I finished my medical exam yesterday and would like to send...

Is Mumps considered a Major Illness ?

I fear I might have missed this one on the health questionnaire. I received all the requisite MMR vaccines as a child (optional at the time here in Italy, but mom had us do all the required vaccines in the US) but somehow the mumps part didn't 'take' and I got a mild case of Mumps at age 8...

Audiometer One further question - How are the Audiometer test results read and would it be possible to get an idea of an 'normal' range (ie: what's the qualification 'bottom line') ?
