FYI - my daughter was invited to CVW last September, then applied for NASS-was rejected and then few weeks ago got an "official candidate of 2017" letter!

Just curious - my DD received an official candidate letter. How many are sent out yearly? And how do they determine who gets the letters to log into the system and continue the process?

I see some threads about people receiving 'Official Candidacy Class of 2017' letters. If you filled out the official online application does this mean you will get one? My DD has not received any letter or CIS username/password. Just wondering!

Thank you! Girls State, Summer Seminar and her National TSA competition in TN were all overlapping. She made the decision to attend Girls State. Her project for the National TSA was with another girl so she will present the project and still have a chance to win a National Title for TSA also...

FYI - They have extended the deadline for SS until April 7th. So far 1550 invites have been sent out of the 2250 spots. So 700 more kids will get picked. Not sure why they extended the SS application another week?

I noticed on the website that they added some information pertaining to SS - it states " Applications submitted between January and 1 April will all be evaluated equally. We will make final notices of acceptance by May 1st. "
