Add a double major in music?

^^^^This. So true. My sister is a music major, most of her classes are like 1-2 credit hours and they are very demanding, each one takes up at least 3-4 hrs a week...and that's just for in class time. Then as a music major you are required to join choirs or ensembles as an extracurricular. She...

    Officer Career Starter Loan Question

Lol thanks. I planned to call them in the next few days anyways since ive already started the process and am a document or two away from finalizing things, but since people were sharing about their experiences I thought I'd ask.

    Officer Career Starter Loan Question

Can anyone answer this question? If I take out this loan now, I have until 6 months after commissioning to start payments. Does the 2.99% interest start accruing on the loan from the date that I receive the loan or on the date that the first payment is due in November?

My Decision Being in the ROTC

If this is your first week back at school, you have until tomorrow to register for the classes. Give it another semester. Take the class, if you decide part of the way through the semester you really dont want to do it, you can disenroll. But if you don't sign up for it and decide half way...

Health Care for a soon to be LT

Ooooooooooo nice catch AROTC-dad. I bet they thought they were being slick with that one, not covering you for getting hurt by playing a school offered club/intramural team. Yeah the thing I really want to make sure im covered for is injury playing a school sport that's not one of the big...

    Major Switch

Well I'd trust the rep for ROTC that you talked to. They're already the best source for if it's fine or not. You're going from AS to AE right? AE is actually probably higher on the food chain than AS...some of the sciences for reasons unknown to me do not fall into the STEM category for Air...

Health Care for a soon to be LT

True I did think about that, and with the regular fees I already pay, all of my visits (to include some x-rays) have been totally free. Though that insurance would only cover extra services at my college and im not entirely sure if it would cover me if i was out of town and had to go to the...

    SF86 and security clearance?? help!!

Dude calm down. Like the above says just check with your cadre. It takes them a while to do security clearances so they may have gotten to you and they may not have. I went through the process for my secret and none of my contacts were interviewed, neither was I. I didn't actually know if mine...

Health Care for a soon to be LT

It may be easy to sign up for but it'll run you about $100 more per month than some other insurances.

Health Care for a soon to be LT

Haven't signed up for USAA yet since I've had navy federal from the beginning, I'll sign up for it eventually but NF has worked just fine for me. Thanks I actually found a provider today. Got an affordable plan only by talking to a real human being because I couldn't even get an online quote...

Health Care for a soon to be LT

Hey so I'm in a bit of a weird spot. I've aged out of my parent's TRICARE coverage as I will be 23 in a few days, but I still have one semester left of college (took the 5 year option for my engineering degree). I'm looking for some healthcare I can get until I go on active duty and qualify for...

Failing a PFA on AFROTC scholarship

@Theallmighty I'm sure this is an embarrassing topic to bring up so it's easier to ask a board full of anonymous strangers. It's understandable. However if you failed the pfa your cadre knows it. You know it. No point in hoping that by not bringing it up to them it might go unnoticed and you...

    AFROTC Disenrollment

From the cases I've seen, it takes a while. If it's not medical or something else that's pretty cut and dry, and if you are contracted you can be required to still meet ROTC attendance requirements for another full semester. The guy I met going through a sticky disenrollment process at the...

Failing a PFA on AFROTC scholarship

We have an individual currently in the process of disenrollment because they have are a 400 like you and have not passed the last 3 official PFA opportunities they've had (that's being generous, pretty sure they went from below average scores to failing spring of 300 year because they gained a...

AROTC Has Not Gone As Planned or Hoped

Would you mind sharing what his major is? Does he just have no interest in it? Is it too hard for him? He's really late for a change of major, but I'm wondering if that's part of the problem with his grades?

Type 7 to Type 2 AFROTC Scholarship conversion question

When you get your award letter in the mail there is a box to check that says "I want to change my type 7 to a 3 year type 2"....Idk if they've gone completely digital but there should be something like that on its way to you.

    AFROTC Type 7 Schools

You're right Pima, the Bursar's office and Det in question is the place to ask about that question. I added the scholarship coordinator bit because I'm 99% sure that it is still a rule that type 7 can only be used at colleges where the student is offered IS tuition, but it's possible that...

    AFROTC Type 7 Schools

You should have your DS/DD check with their scholarship coordinator, but this is one of those things where the school can't just make up the difference, they have to offer them in state tuition in order to use the 4 year type 7 there. There are some that do that, but there is a difference...

    AFROTC Type 7 Schools

You can't take a type 7 to an out of state school even if the school is offering to pay the difference. If you go out of state you have to convert it to a 3 year type 2, so you'll lose a year of funding from the AF.
