    2017 Recognition

If a cadet is not deemed worthy of recognition by the squad yet are pinned prop & wings by team mates, does the unrecognized cadet gain the privileges afforded those who truly earned their prop & wings?

    parent involvement with application

Cutting the umbilical cord and fending for yourself earlier than others may make you feel entitled to deem who is correct or not. As others have stated, there's no single correct approach. What worked for you may not for some one else. Anyone who is self righteous enough to say their way or the...

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

Many ways to skin a cat. Credible information is discerned by seeking multiple sources and verification. By getting you and other prepsters frustrated and passionately explain the difference, I have learned something new. Overcoming adversity is one of the common topics they ask when one applies...

If these statistics are accurate, is spending 100K towards a year in prep worth it?

If it were your son actually asking the questions, it may appear as if it is not you who is chomping on the bit. There's plenty of resources such as USAFA admissions and forums such as this that aims to inform would be candidates all the requirements and specifics. Most of the cadets I know...

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

Thanks for all the helpful input. It makes much more sense after reading different opinions. Showing up to support our team for home games is the least we can do. Overcoming adversity, teamwork and exposure to future applicants/public are legitimate reasons. Funny how winning especially against...

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

Cool thing with this forum is that one can ask questions and you get a mix bag of pertinent and varied perspectives thrown in with disagreement or debunked assumptions. I am not mad or in disagreement. Simply a query so I can be enlightened. Thanks.

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

It's sad that you choose to be a blind follower. I want to understand why an order or rule has to be followed. The very least you can do to try and become a leader is to be informed and not be ignorant. If you don't know the answer, maybe someone else does?

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

There's gotta be a more intelligent explanation than just "welcome to the military" or that's how it's always been done. I understand that football brings in revenue that subsidizes the other less popular sports. It would be nice to know if there are other reasons why all the cadets have to...

    C4C AMA: Ask me anything!

Why is it mandatory to watch your team get humiliated at your home field? Why aren't cadets given the option to support other sporting events instead? How is it that ICs who don't participate in training sessions or even inspections make it through recognition?

Drinking the kool-aid has convinced some that the "five year plan" with the extra year is good for them because it's the next best thing to getting turned away. Prep is supposed to help prior enlisted to acclimate to academy life but it's become something else. Recruiting athletes and others...

From a class that had a high passing rate at BCT, maybe the academic year is proving not as easy or the statistics at the end of the academic year will level off and catch up to the norm?

    Last year for USAFAPS?

It is only a matter of discussion. Don't flatter yourself. The previous superintendent is one example of many that have gone through the system and shown success. It is the alleged high attrition rate and the examples I cited that I think are reasons why changes have to be made to improve the...

    Last year for USAFAPS?

What I meant is that I feel the resources-whether it be scholarship or government funding, is a waste if the recipient decides to bail out for whatever reason and not complete the four years after a year of prep which is what the higher rate of attrition suggests.
