Is a commission as an officer GUARANTEED?

As mentioned previously, ROTC cadets seeking commission will attend LDAC at Ft. Lewis Washington summer before their senior year. This is where all ROTC cadets compete for ranking in the national OML. This is/was also known as Warrior Forge. The following numbers are from a Powerpoint...

    National Waiting List

I've been wondering about this. Does there come a point in time where you get an official "you will not be receiving an appointment" letter? Son has nomination and received the letter notifiying of NWL. He has Plan B ready to go with 4yr ROTC scholarship if the appointment doesn't come. I know...

We did not receive any communication from CC until the letter arrived notifying of scholarship and listing two schools. Letter arrived on February 6 with a response required by March 6. Sorry, there is no phone number listed on the letter.

    Struggling with my decision

Yes, he is geared up and ready for LSU. Sent the AROTC scholarship acceptance to Cadet Command last week. He will not be able to attend Spring Invitational as district track meet is that week. His orientation is set for June 14-15. The cadre at LSU were very helpful and encouraging. They also...

    Struggling with my decision

Hey acgeaux7, If you want to trade a 4yr ROTC scholarship to LSU for your WP appointment, my son will gladly switch.:smile: By "here at LSU" does that mean you are currently a student? If so, then you know what the college life is like. And if you've experienced football in Tiger...

    AROTC January Board Acceptance

For the truly paranoid among us  you can always send the response via registered mail. Also, when sending email I always request a read receipt. At least that way I know someone opened the email.

    Academic Discipline Question

You will normally fill out a 4-year plan your freshman year listing the courses you plan to take each semester. Part of the cadre's job is to make sure you stay on track so you will be eligible to graduate on time. Changing majors is generally ok as long as you can stay on track.

    AROTC January Board Acceptance

This is my second time through the AROTC process but still a little tension-filled waiting on things to happen. Have you looked at the forms on the DoDMERB applicant site? Form DD2492 is the medical history form that your daughter will take with her to the exam. It is a good idea to look through...

    AROTC January Board Acceptance

I don't have the offer packet with me but I believe the respond by date is March 6. Timeline of events: Monday, February 1 - Scholarship status changed to "check DoDMERB" and received email from PMS at one of school choices Thursday, February 4 - List of schools appeared on scholarship...

    Questions about AROTC Scholarship Process

A DoDMERB exam is good for Service Academies and ROTC scholarships. Each SA or ROTC branch may have its own standards so being medically qualified for one does not automatically mean medically qualified for all. My son had exam this past summer as part of SA and AFROTC applications. Now we are...

Repeated Letter re Incomplete AROTC Application

URL for AROTC website? I am familiar with the web page where you enter SSN and birth date to check scholarship status but do not know where to check online that scores and such have been received. Would someone be so kind as to provide the url to the AROTC website as mentioned in the above...

    Travel Allowance?

Not sure if this still applies but here is my experience with AROTC in 2007.... Son received 4yr AROTC scholarship to LSU. We live near Houston. Sometime in first semester he was reimbursed for mileage from Houston to Baton Rouge. It is a one-time deal for the first trip. I don't know what...

    TX district 23-Rodriguez

It is interesting to me that not all TX congressional districts hold personal interviews. We are in 10th - McCaul - and were expecting to hear of interview but no word until notification by mail of nomination to AFA. My son called and asked about USMA since that is now first choice. USMA...

    TX Senator John Coryn

Son received call from Cornyn on 12/3 informing of nom to AFA. However, son has decided USMA better fits his goals but did not call to get order of preference changed prior to board meeting. So, son declined nom to AFA and was told all USMA noms were given out already. Son also received nom...

    Fully Qualified - Notify MOC?

Based on wording that others have posted, it appears my son has only one foot in the West Point door at this time. Or maybe just that the door is not closed. He completed his application (CFA scores) within the last couple of weeks so this letter is likely more of a notice that everything...

    Fully Qualified - Notify MOC?

My son received the "fully qualified -- need nomination before admission" letter last week. One Senator's nomination board met last week. The other gives date of Nov.-Dec. Not sure when Representative's board meets but I think all compare notes as to not double up on noms and give more a chance...
