My DS has a tour of the Academy scheduled 4/11/13 - we will be flying into the Denver airport and driving. Any recommendations on where to stay or other pertinent information anyone would be willing to provide? :smile:

Keep hanging in there - our DS got the call with the offer of appointment today from the Congressman's office. So the Academy is still processing and making offers.

GA-13 Congressional office called today to give the good news and I relayed the message to our DS who was just leaving track practice. To say the least, this definitely made our DS' day. The indication is DS should get a letter in the mail soon. So proud! Congratulations to all the...

I think it is just the lack of any type of communication that is the most frustrating. Just wait and see - if you are not selected for the MOC slate, there are still slots available (though not too many) - so I'm sure there is more selection criteria that is implemented and the Academy just...

Same thing happened to alot of the candidates. Not sure what it means at this point. The change was that the "red" text notifying of appointments in March is gone. Candidate status remains - no other changes. Just hang in there - something will happen one way or the other.

My DS is rowing the same boat as you - portal has been changed to remove the red note - no status change, no call, no email, no letter. Maybe your group will be discussed this week in a board meeting if you were not discussed last week. I guess no news is better than the wrong news.

Still waiting..... There have been no portal updates, emails, letters etc. yet - still waiting.

Trying this w/ quote - not sure if GA-13 items would have been considered by Academy yet at they are all competitive candidates - maybe Chambliss ranks candidates or lists Primary, etc. We are GA-13 and have not heard anything in any format yet.

As I understand it - each MOC may have only 5 charged to them for each academy at any time - so today, for example, if there were 2 appointees in one class and 1 in each in the other classes at a given Academy and one was to graduate then there would be 1 slot available in that Academy for that...

So son had interviews with Isakson and Chambliss and today received letters which indicated no nomination - it is my understanding that Scott does not do interviews and makes nominations in mid-December. Can anyone confirm that information.
