    Reapply 4-year national NROTC scholarship

DD reapplied during freshman year for Navy Nurse scholarship and was awarded during the second semester. She also participated as a college programmer. Personally, I think these type of applicants have a leg up on those coming right out of high school. Although it is a 4 year award, the reality...

    NROTC Nurse Option

Last couple of years Navy nurse scholarships have been limited. The year my DD applied there were 16 awarded. I had heard that close to 800 applied. She didn't get it first time around so she enrolled as a college programmer and was awarded one in April of Freshman year. Also, be aware that...

    Nurse Option ROTC Ed delay

The past couple of years, advanced standing has not been offered for NROTC nurse college programmers. Therefore, the only way to continue as a NROTC nurse is to pick up the national scholarship ; either as a high school senior or re-apply as a college freshman. DD was fortunate to pick up the...

    Nurse Option ROTC Ed delay

NROTC Nurse purpose is to prepare for service as a Navy Nurse. Not sure on the Ed Delay part. Keep in mind that getting a nurse NROTC scholarship is not a slam dunk. Last couple of years I believe only 16 were awarded nationally.

Unless it is different for Marines, you can reapply for the National Scholarship as a College Programmer your freshman year. DD reapplied as a Freshman and was awarded the NROTC Nurse scholarship in April. She listed the same five colleges.

    NROTC boards?

You are not alone. DD has had her NROTC Nurse app done since August. We have no idea if a board has even convened yet. About a month ago the scholarship coordinator for our region told us that no Nurse scholarships had been awarded yet from his candidates. Be patient and have a Plan B. Good...

    Nursing NROTC information

I realize it is impossible to predict future NROTC nurse manning levels , however I am interested on hearing some opinions. To date, DD has been accepted into 4 of 5 NROTC Nurse program colleges (still waiting on one). Should DD still pursue NROTC Nurse College Progammer option if not awarded...

    NROTC Nursing Stats

For nursing students, I think the bigger issue now is if will they grant Advanced Standing for the non-scholarship Nursing students. I don't believe they did last year.

    NROTC Nurse Option

    NROTC Nurse Option: College selection

Points well taken. No specific reason why DD has not considered AROTC nursing other than dad is ex navy and it is what she is familiar with. Any particular colleges she should look at for AROTC nursing?
