Thanks, AFrpaso! I knew the direct appt guidelines but not the prep school ones. Currently, it looks like I'm competitive for at least a preppie slot  Maybe when I re-take the SAT and ACT I can become competitive for direct entry.

I really hate that they look at what kind of school you went to etc. I understand you want someone with a good education background but just because you went to a small public school doesn't mean you didnt recieve a quality education (in my opinion)
What I'm curious about is what are the stats on the Airmen who have recieved appointments, as far as SAT/ACT scores, # LOR's etc?
I'm applying and just trying to see how I compare :)
Wow, reading this makes me realize that I'm not so young anymore.... Among my enlisted peers I'm the youngest (having just turned 20) but if I'm accepted to the Academy then I'll be going in at age 21 & be considered old :( booo, meh whatever lol
So, let me get this straight (because I heard someone say they went into debt while at the academy)... Going to school there will be paid for out of the money they give you for being a cadet? How much money is left over after this amount is taken out?
Just a random question if any of you had to take leave on the days you scheduled your SAT/ACT tests or if your commander let you take the time needed & come to work after?
LEAD program applicant
I'll be starting my application process to the LEAD program soon. Hoping to transfer from being an enlisted Airman weather forecaster to a cadet :) I had hopes of applying to the academy straight out of high school but my SAT/ACT scores sucked. Hopefully the second time...
