    AFA wifi service?

Wow I remember fighting the good fight trying to get wifi in the dorms back in the day.

Thanks hornet and buffalo! I'm happy to go back home to Hurlburt and be in AFSOC. I didn't think there was a bad assignment either.

If anybody is trying to keep up with 15-07 from the T-1 track side... attached is the T-1 available drop. The only difference between mine (Laughlin) and Columbus and Vance is the fact that you would FAIP at your respective base. Oh and drop night is this Friday March 20th!

dtkdarnoc, I'm completely separated from them. As if we were two different classes all along.

Hey Steve, That's good to know. I still want 135s. Who doesn't want overpowered engines :)

Just to make it clear to people interested. Tracking 38's makes every plane in the Air Force inventory available to you; not just fighters/bombers. Tracking T-1's means you are limited to crew aircraft.

I would agree with buffalo. The Academy taught me how to memorize things quickly and that certainly helped with boldface/ops limits. I'd say you'd have to choose for yourself as far as going to IFS. I had a classmate fail out and she took the IFS waiver and blamed not going as the fault. I...

Marine, my mistake. From what I've been told, being stationed at a SuperBase in C-17's like Charleston or McChord really pushes their pilots. Oddly enough, I suppose it depends on the unit since your DS is currently there and has better intel than myself. Pima, in my previous post I made the...

Zach, I expected UPT to be lots of spoon-feeding and for Phase 1&2 I was right for the most part. However, in Phase 3 it's much different. The IP's are still willing to help but they definitely won't spoon feed you. You have to put in the effort to make it show that you are trying to understand...

I'm not entirely sure about the timing of other classes but for us, 15-07's drop night is March 20th and Graduation is April 3rd. Yes, the mission comes first and I'm sure I'll love whatever plane I get but I'd like to have the opportunity to go to the airlines with a strong chance of being...

Pima, my class only has 11 students total (8 T-1s/3T-38s). My class is very different as we used to be 15-06 but they split our class and pushed half of us into 15-07. The split happened at track select and was due to the poor maintenance situation here at Laughlin and budget cuts. When the...

Stealth, thanks and yes being from Hurlburt Field, MacDill is the closest big jet base. Navy, I decided on the 135 for multiple reasons. 1) The locations are fantastic: MacDill, Fairchild, Kadena, Mildenhall (soon to be Ramstein), and McConnell. The "worst" location would be McConnell and...

Thank you. It's been a fun and wild ride in UPT. I've changed my mind multiple times but I'm pretty sure I have finally decided. I want KC-135's to anywhere as my #1. Preferably, 135's to MacDill would be ideal but I love all the locations of the 135's and the multiple reserve/guard units. I...

Hey guys/gals, It's been a very long time since I've perused the forums but I'm back and willing to help people out. Just to fill people in, I have finally passed the infamous Nav checkride of T-1 training and now have about 5 weeks left until drop night. I'm here to answer any questions about...

    Helos interest me

Track is coming up soon and I'm trying to figure out where I want to go. I was curious about going to Ft. Rucker but I don't know anything about helos. All I know is you can get CV-22s, UH-1s, and HH-60s. Are lifestyles different between the three? What are deployments like? Does anyone keep...

    Not able to do JROTC

I didn't take the ROTC route but I believe their selection process is similar in the sense that they want a "well-rounded" individual. Doing CAP or volunteering at your local VA can only help you so I would say go for it. CAP will give you some exposure to military structure and uniform...

    GoPro and Airmanship

Definitely not allowed for 490. I was in the same situation and asked too. Instead, my jumpmaster had a gopro and filmed our element as we jumped out. He gave us the videos and made sure they didn't end up on YouTube (since AETC isn't too fond of 490) so even then there were restrictions. Sent...
