    NROTC - SWO Ship selection

My son knew approximately where he was earlier this week (that approximation was off by 25 slots but he didn't find that out until an hour before his time slot) I only know that grade point is part of the equation, I don't know what else goes into it.

    Commissioning Date

UW Madison also commissions around graduation. But the hotel thing is crazy, we have a couple hotel rooms (for grandparents and family) but they are crazy expensive and at 2 different hotels.

Using the NROTC scholarship right out of high school, am I able to go to an out of state college?

NROTC scholarships are assigned to a school. You can't "take the scholarship" anywhere. You can attend where the scholarship is assigned (based on the list of 5 schools that you submit with your scholarship application.)

    ACT score

The army will super score between tests and the priority is for English and math. Send both. AFrotc works differently and take best sitting. Suggest you search Pima posts for her very good breakdown of the Air Force procedure.

    Taping

When my son needed to be taped we used the school nurse. I'm sure the school trainer would probably qualify but you can have him ask his admissions officer.

    Campus Visit & Tour

No, you will be fine in khakis and a polo. The campus is on a hill. The most important thing is comfortable shoes. :)

I can't speak to your condition, but eyesight needs to be correctable to 20/20. Best of luck!

Paul Duddy is the photographer that is capturing all the AIM/Swab photos. You can see them all on his facebook page and he labels them well. :)

    Numbers for this year?

The last day of AIM, parents are invited to the robotics demo (abbreviated a bit as the gym is under construction), an admissions briefing, a FIT presentation (which has nothing to do with exercise), then a luncheon in the officer's dining room and finally a drill demo and graduation. All the...

    Numbers for this year?

I'm not sure I know what your asking, but I sat with Mr. Pinch of admissions during the AIM parent lunch and he gave us the following numbers for what they are worth: 66 Scholars this year were sent to 3 schools (GMC, MMI, NAPS) Think it was 10 to NAPS (new this year to send USCGA kids there) 8...

    AIM Tomorrow!

Don't know what was normal last year. They always ran in formation. They always ran the stairs with efficiency. They didn't always run because it wasn't always practical to run in formation.

    AIM Tomorrow!

Spoke with the man in charge of the robotics competition. He said that they made the decision to not yell at the AIMsters like they do swabs but rather "used their command voices". Still hard but not quite as brutal was what I took from that. There were still kids here who considered themselves...
