    Civilian Preparatory Program

Tough choice. This same kind of predicament happened to me over 30 years ago. My goal was to serve in the Navy and I accepted the NROTC scholarship. Enjoyed a great active/reserve career to retirement. If his ultimate goal is become a naval officer, would think twice about turning down a NROTC...

    Prep school or ROTC?

DS long term goal is to become a Naval or Coast Guard officer. He is awaiting word from the NA and CGA too (accepted to SUNY Maritime). In his case, it appears that SUNY Maritime gives him the most favorable options in either reappyling to the NA/CGA or continuing on towards a commission...

Asked if I would accept an Appointment

No need to worry. DS is also on the waitlist and had the same communication from admissions. From another post, it seems that last year's waitlist was rumored to have been cleared. If that is the case, very encouraging news for waitlisted candidates! Hang in there.
