    ROTC Transfer

    Bump, same question.

    CIET

My cadre did not know. (It seems this is a common trend for them) They say they are waiting for CC to figure things out because of all the changes? I'm mainly wondering if any other MS1s have been told that they will be going or if anyone has heard specific dates.

    CIET

I heard that MS1 cadets will have to attend CIET this summer from multiple sources. My question is, does anyone know when this is held, and if it is mandatory? I read somewhere that it only becomes mandatory in 2016 but I'm not entirely sure. I'm asking because I'm trying to plan out my...

    Sports for OML?

I'm currently in AROTC as an MS1. I was wondering what sports counted for the OML. I know it says varsity, club, and community, but what sports count exactly? What about things such as rowing club, rock climbing club, paintball club, etc.? These are all listed at my school as a sport. Thanks in...

What were your stats when receiving ROTC scholarship

Tara, you will no doubt obtain an ROTC scholarship. My best advice to you is to apply now to make the first board, rehearse and ace the interviews, and work on your pushups. Other than that, you will be fine. Select schools you are interested in and that you know you have a good chance of...

    Boston 2018

Yes! I will be attending Northeastern University with a 4 year Army ROTC scholarship.

Does an ROTC Scholarship have weight in the admissions process?

In my experience, the admissions office at Northeastern University was genuinely interested in the fact that I had a scholarship, and they said they would make a note of it in my file. I was accepted Early Action. For the University of Southern California, the ROO specifically contacted me and...

Looking at Class of 2017 stats

Keyword: "probably". There is no indication that those who are qualified also got a nomination. I was 3Q'd months before I received any nomination. The process of being nominated is not tied into being qualified at all.

    Male CFA Question

Do track or cross country for a season if possible and work on running. If not, then make a running routine and follow it. Other than that, buy a door mounted pull-up bar and do a few pullups every time you walk in and out of your room. Make pullups an essential part of your workout routine...

Looking at Class of 2017 stats

Those 2165 who were qualified might not have been nominated also, so really that is much smaller number for those who are 3Q'd AND nominated.

    AROTC Second Board Decisions?

I was already medically qualified before I received my scholarship.

    AROTC Second Board Decisions?

My experience was right on with Aveon's. I received an email on November 20th. The next day, the Army ROTC Scholarship Application Status System was the first to update with only one of my schools listed (alphabetical for me too). That site still shows the same information. Now, the actual...

    Vacancy Winner

Actually, Senator McCain submits a ranked slate- Principal and then alternates are ranked 2-10, thereafter. It is Senator Flake that submits a competitive slate and allows the academy to choose the vacancy winner. :thumb:

    AFROTC Interview Attire

I definitely agree, a suit and tie is not necessary. I wore black corfams, slacks, dress shirt, and a black tie. Needless to say, the interviewer obviously liked it!:thumb:

    best schools for ROTC scholarships

Go for Northeastern University! The best battalion in Boston! :thumb: They also give around $8200 a year for room and board for being on scholarship. Boston College, which is in the same battalion, gives free room and board all 4 years. Northeastern is ranked as one of the top AROTC...

    Class rank

That's unfortunate. Girls State does have a much smaller amount of slots, so I can see how they wouldn't be as accommodating. Best of luck to your DS, hopefully he gets the opportunity to attend Boys State! It was honestly one of the most spectacular experiences in my lifetime, and I...

    Received LOA but no nomination

Wow, I'm honestly really surprised that any cadet would tell you not to apply to your MOC noms. An LOA would have given you a straight shot in with ANY nomination, congressman OR senator. Why not take every possible avenue to get a nomination and increase your chances of an appointment if this...

    Class rank

Not sure about other states, but I know that in Arizona you can apply to Boys State directly at a local American Legion charter if you school does not nominate students and endorse the program. I'm sure it's like that for other states as well. No school can just exclude students from going to...
