I do consider myself fortunate as do all other cadets.

Not all candidates have a sport. Most but not all. And certainly not all of them are Division I athletes. I had hardly any community service. Maybe ten hours. I never took AP or Honors because we didn't have them. I cannot understand the criticism of this young man?

As for the comment about AP classes. I hadn't heard of them until I applied. Why? Because my high school of 200 students didn't offer them. Looks like I didn't need them either since I have a year down and three to go.

There is also a religious service on Thursday. So if not religious you will have a little time to yourself on Thursday and Sunday to actually sit in your room and do whatever except sleep. Most of my flight would write letters.

I believe I read somewhere on here about PC gaming? When are you allowed to play video games if at all? And are you allowed to have a console such as an Xbox? I understand that you cannot have a TV unitl first class year correct? But the big computer screen would work for a console.

With me receiving my appointment to USAFA and my friend with his to USNA it will be two from a class of 42! Rural Illinois will be well represented!
