Labeling items and placing items in plastic bags

Once we arrive we will be given a new bag to put the items we brought into; hence the suggestion to bring our supplies in Ziplock bags for an easy transfer. Not quite sure about the labeling, but I have already written my last name in the tongue of my boots and on several of my more expensive...

    Tattoos Prior to R-Day

Forget her? never. Take time daily to appreciate her life? probably not. Im not entirely convinced that it is a great idea, But the point I am trying to make is this: tattoos can be symbols of something their owners hold near and dear to their heart. They don't need to be visible to others to...

    Tattoos Prior to R-Day

I'm considering getting a small tattoo in dedication of a family member who recently passed away. She was a huge part of my childhood; a woman who had an tremendous impact on my life. For me, the tattoo would be a daily reminder of the most valuable times I had with her. It would be a permanent...

    benefit of USAA

I would agree that they aren't the best. However the professor was most likely making a blanket statement about all of the investment services at USAA. That being said, several of their mutual funds made Kiplinger's Top Ten Lists this year, they are well managed and have great returns, their...

    benefit of USAA

USAA also has some pretty good investment services. for those of you who are interested in making investments with some or your cadet pay or Cow loan, USAA is convenient because it's easy to transfer funds between your banking accounts and investments. Among other investments, some of their...

    Back up plans

None of those options will "guarantee" that you receive an appointment to West Point. The senior military colleges could be a good option for you, but your State university and ROTC will give you great opportunities as well. One of my friends went to a regular university for a year, didn't do...

    LOA stats

Just to give you an idea: SAT: 2000 GPA: 95% Rank: top 10% (pretty competitive school) EC: multiple varsity sports, one varsity captainship, NHS Pres., other clubs, Full time summer job, ect.... If you want an LOA my best advice would be to get those SAT scores as high as possible.

    Worried

I would agree with AKH. Go after school and talk to your teacher. Make an effort to show him/her that you really care about your grade. Show them that you are working hard and explain that you want to do everything in your power to raise your grade as much as possible. In my experience, 95%...

    Army Aviation

Scout, Whats going on with the OH58 replacement program? I know it was scrapped a few years back but I would assume that it would be re-impleimented sometime in the near future. I know the army has been purchasing some UH-72s but the missions of the two aircraft don't really overlap, do they?

    Is this a good sign?

This is incorrect. I feel as if too many people focus all of their time on JROTC under this misconception. Just an anecdote: There have been five people appointed to service academies from my school. 5 of them have been the captains of varsity sports teams 5 of them have earned multiple...

    Army Aviation

Scout, what are the opportunities for stick time if one chooses to go into the Acquisition Cops or some other component of the Army science community? I know an aviator who got to attend the Naval Test Pilot School at Pax. River, MD and I was wondering what paths an aviator could take to...

    Labral Tear

The waiver should not be a problem. I had a major SLAP lesion and received a waiver for it to USMA and AROTC about 4-5 months later. The Academy Surgeon will want to review not only how the surgery went but how the patient is progressing; make sure you do the therapy everyday!

Physical Therapist in the Air Force!

I did my PT in an Army clinic but there was a Air Force PT officer there too. In the Army, all Physical Therapists are officers (I would assume it would be this way in all services seeing as it is a graduate degree,) and I would assume any enlisted personnel anyone saw were just PT techs. In...
