I served as the secretary of one of the out of school service clubs that I am a part of and admissions counted it as a leadership role. Every bit helps especially since those roles ARE leadership.

lots of practice along with trying different techniques. its all upper body muscle groups so work shoulders, abs, lats, and chest i would think. the best method for me was to bend at the waist and extend my arm back and throw it like a catapault does. sorta off the wall example but it works.

Appointments Yeah, I recieved my appointment in early December. The appointments have been rolling in since then. Don't be discouraged though because USMA admissions will continue handing out appointments until May, assuming of course you have a nomination. Hope this helps and keep praying!:thumb:

yeah they will def. look at the band stuff and esp. the drum major. admissions likes to see that you are dedicated to what you do and are good at. keep with it. i wouldn't devote ALL of your time, though. remember its a miltary academy, not a band academy.
