I thought DodMERB exams were only valid for two years?! DS just finished his AS100 year in AFROTC and we thought he'd be going trough the process again this summer since he had exams in July 2014. It would be nice to find out we have incorrect information :).

Here's another question... What to wear to a high school awards presentation? DS is getting awarded his 4 year/Type 7 AFROTC Scholarship. Should he wear his JROTC uniform (that's heavily decorated with ribbons and cords) or a shirt/tie/jacket? Any guidance is appreciated.

DS attended Summer Seminar last summer, had a great application, 2 nominations and still did not get an appointment. Don't think SS helps.

Our last name begins with "B" and we got an email at 5:02pm.

Crickets no more in VA. DS just got an email giving him news of non-appointment. :(. He's got a solid plan B, now considered plan A, locked into place and a 4-year AFROTC Scholarship to boot. So very proud he made it this far. Good luck to all still waiting.

Just got to a hotspot and am able to look at the forum for a few minutes. DS admitted this morning that he's very grateful he's got a solid plan B in place (VTCC w/ AFROTC scholarship as well) but he's still hoping for positive news from USAFA. Maybe after we get home to VA?! Sending positive...

Thank you for starting this thread Va19! We are out of the country for Spring Break and have very limited Wi-fi. When DS or I have the ability to check his portal, we feel jittery. Do we want to know, or do we want to wait until we get home?! Tough call. Still crickets in our part of VA as far...
