    Marine Sideload Scholarships

How many Marine sideload scholarships are given a year and how many apply? I have a 4 year Navy scholarship but after much consideration, I want to apply for and switch to the Marine Option scholarship.

    Appendicitis?

@AndrewRobins did you provide information about who did your surgery, etc.? My surgery was a long time ago and my parents don't have the medical records for it so the only thing I can provide for now is the address of the hospital but not the doctor

    Appendicitis?

Hi all, I had an appendectomy done for appendicitis when I was in kindergarten (thirteen years ago). Would this affect my ability to be medically qualified? Thanks!

    NROTC-Boarded??

@ForGod&Country I would like to amend my previous answer---your DS's application has already gone through the final processing stage. It is currently at the "board ready" status. Good luck!

    NROTC-Boarded??

@Skye that status means that all materials have been processed and now he is ready to be reviewed by the board. You may not get a response until April (the last board), but it is possible he could hear sooner than that. If he does get a scholarship though, there will be an email and a portal...

    NROTC-Boarded??

Did you type in information correctly? Many times I've seen the portal to be completely blank but that's because I input my info (birthday, etc) incorrectly. There are four stages of your application after it gets submitted: The status of your application will change from: At...

    NROTC 2020 school choices

Congratulations!!! Those are huge accomplishments and you should be proud of yourself. Going to Harvard or Yale and doing the NROTC route wouldn't be considered bad options at all :)

    NROTC 2020 school choices

@md403 I am confused also. Cornell and UPenn are ED, and Yale is restrictive early action. How did you apply to all three and get accepted? Unless you've received likely letters...

    NROTC 2020 school choices

@md403 Georgetown is going to remain a cross-town school within the George Washington unit. It would make no sense for Georgetown to become a cross-town school with UMD since it's so far away..... UMBC is opening up its own unit this Fall and UMD College Park is going to be part of that new unit.

    NROTC 2020 school choices

Thank you! All the current midshipmen from Georgetown either have a Tier 2 or Tier 3 major

    NROTC-Boarded??

@JaxNavymom it does not explicitly say boarded. The application is considered "board ready" when your portal says this: "The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application. Missing Items All required items have been processed. Selection Status Additional Information..." And...

    NROTC officer interview

@ethaaan123 can you post word-for-word what the netfocus site says? Maybe this will give us a clue as to what is going on. Also-like kinnem said, keep in contact with the Auburn NROTC unit.

    NROTC officer interview

Always remember that if you need something to get done/resolved quickly, the best course of action is to use the phone. Keep us updated and best of luck!

    NROTC officer interview

@ethaaan123 Just do the interview ASAP. There are still many boards to come so you have time. In the event that you do not pick up a scholarship, you can either re-apply as a college freshman or join your university's NROTC unit and try to pick up a side-load scholarship (3 year). If paying for...

    AROTC January Scholarship Boards

Your portal will reflect a new status if you receive a scholarship. If you do not receive one and your file is reviewed again during the next board, I believe for AROTC your portal will say "reboarded."
