TWE here in Maryland, yesterday. Scrambling and sad but looking for God's plan.

Was it National Wait List he was told? I believe that is different. The NWL or the National Pool is where they candidates with noms, but didn't win their slate go. The 150 appointments have to come from that. True??

Struggling here too. Plan B&C rejected and WL, so now scrambling for a good Plan B if the TWE appears. Plan D, not DS's happy place and for working as hard as he did, and to achieve so much....deserves a GREAT option. Just didn't count on the fickleness of B&C being smaller schools, wanting...

What is the general feel on these appointments? Did they already happened, do they happen at a slow trickle? What happened last year? I couldn't find anyone added to the appointment list that thought they came from NWL, but guessing they didn't know.

My thought is that a big wave of TWEs needs to be followed by a big wave of BFEs..... hoping that is the wave we all catch and surf in. This upcoming week maybe???

I think I understand what you are saying... So being from a competitive state has more impact on you getting a nom? I read in another thread that NWL or National Pool appointment haven't gone at yet. So the score on that list not affected by a bunch of people from your HS or state already...

I know USNA specifically has you take LOTS of engineering classes regardless of your major. An English major I know from USNA, currently has an engineering job. Is USAFA the same? Political science and engineering can be very different.

This is extremely helpful to me, if it's like last year. Plan B decision is due next Friday by email, so if we've dodged the TWE bullet for one more week, if will be easier with plan B in hand, to wait for the BFE (or TWE she whispered) . Thank you for sharing.

This crazy mom is not discourage about 60, because that is in the "~tilda~" part of the original BGO calculation. Don't get this crazy mom started on significant figures!! Especially when it relates to hoping her DS gets his dream offer.

...and on a positive note, if 250 come from national pool and about 10% participate here.... then 25 "still in the game" here will get national pool appointments, assuming they haven't gone out yet. Is my crazy mom math right? Bottom line is wait, have plan B&C ready, post crazy mom math here...

Congrats on a stellar plan B, but hoping Plan A all the way for you. I'm stalking for our Plan B and C BFE and praying that if it has to be a TWE that the other BFE's get here first.
