    LOE

Signed by Deborah J McDonald. Colonel, Director of Admissions. With regards to mostly good economic times over past decade, I disagree. College kids had been graduating with 100 k in debt and ended up working for Starbucks and living at home. WP is a great education, debt free and a...

    LOE

Thought I would add my 2 cents regarding the LOE question; my daughter who is a rising senior just received, about a week ago, a very personalized letter from USMA encouraging her to apply- similar to an LOE. She has straight As, scored highly on ACT, varsity letter in lacrosse and went to...

    SLE not selected

I am pretty certain that attending SLE does not contribute at all to your overall scoring while Boys State does. My DS did not get into SLE but less than a year later was an early January acceptance. My advice, keep plugging.

    SLE not selected

Without a doubt and if not too late apply to Boys State. As others have said, SLE has no bearing on acceptance.

Recs for overnight stay on R-day and/or A-day

We stayed at the Inn of Bear Mountain Inn for R day- nice accommodations, historic has a restaurant and scenic. There is also a lodge and cottages. Relatively close and a lot cheaper than Thayer Hotel. Only drawback was a lot of visitors to the park during summer but after 5:00 seems to clear...

    Dental Dilemma

For my 2020, after conducting the panaramic and sending off to WP, and checking with insurance we opted to have teeth removed. While technically surgery, I don't think that is what they are concerned with since under dental. They were difficult removals and my DS took a bit to recover so we...

    NJ MOC Timeline and Competitiveness

Yes it is not a direct nomination however it still requires a nomination and I believe you can eventually find out who's MOC slot was used to fill it by the Academy. Regardless the net effect is that NJ fills roughly 4 times their allotted Candidates.

Disappointing Read - Death of Cadet Preventable

Thanks Bookreader. Exactly and everything is more preventable, where do you draw the line? To make it worse, those who went to football game and had anticipated being able to have their Cadet on leave with them that night were forced to spend a night or drive back the next day. They will...

    NJ MOC Timeline and Competitiveness

For those who do not receive a nomination outright, NJ routinely places more Candidates than allotted to them. Congressional districts in other states which do not place a candidate become available. There are 12 Congressional districts in NJ and NJ often sends 50 or more to West Point.

    NJ MOC Timeline and Competitiveness

Surprised regarding the January 31st date. It seems very late for him and his staff.

    Beat Navy

Thanks Bookreader- great article and a lot of class on both sides however was sad to read that Lt. General Caslen, "the Supe" will be retiring end of school year. He has been great.

    Beat Navy

Great win! had to be Navy's best game of the year. Commander and Chief trophy is ours. Monken had them pumped and they came out and methodically marched down field. Navy adjusted and played their best defensive game of year. Their defense was getting better and better toward end of year...

Army Football is on a roll....

Just checked injury report and good news, the speedy Kell Walker is likely playing Saturday, bad news for Navy, 8 players were just posted as questionable or not playing. As I predicted, Houston did a number on them. http://www.donbest.com/ncaaf/injuries/

Army Football is on a roll....

Navy is favored by 3.5 points- hoping Coach uses this to push them hard and that they they aren't getting the respect they deserve. I think they will be pumped, like they were for Air Force. Go Army, Beat Navy...

    Missing goat

Way to go Army! Classic seize and control of Navy's military intelligence.......I have seen the goat on the sidelines conferring with the coaches and obviously an integral part of play calling. They may need to forfeit.

Army Football is on a roll....

Navy lost to Houston by 10 points. Injuries taking a toll on team with 2nd string QB occasionally playing both running back and wide receiver and one starting defense player will be out against Army for first half for targeting to head with helmet. Still would not be surprised if Navy is...

Army Football is on a roll....

Yes Navy is a good team and weather will be a lot nicer this year. Regarding refs. saw one play which was a clear fumble by NT and recovery by Army and the announcers were in full absolute agreement with clear video during review and they still gave it to NT. Briefly saw what looked to be a...

Army Football is on a roll....

So Army lost to North Texas. Did not get to watch game fully but seemed as if who ever had the ball last was going to win game. Very high scoring game 52-49, with field goal in last seconds winning it. Time to rest up and prepare for Navy. Navy lost to Notre Dame. Close game until 4th qtr...

Army Football is on a roll....

Hope so but feel it is a bit optimistic. While this year's team is definitely better than last year, so are they and we split with them. Having played us twice last year they will know better than anyone we play how to defend the triple option which normally gives you a slight edge.
