    Q & A 2023

They told us that you were supposed to have it memorized. The cadet creed one hundred percent know. They (chain of command) have been pushing down our throats to have the cadet creed and the soldiers creed memorized. I would recommend coming in knowing both.

    Q & A 2023

Av Actually, on the contrary, (I am a cadre for CBT) all new cadets are expected to have the soldiers creed and the cadet creed memorized at a minimum before reporting to R-Day. all the cadre have to memorized, plus more, so you are expected to too. Bottom line, knowledge makes your life a...

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

That’s your preference. No one actually checks what’s in your individual bags. Whatever you feel comfortable with and whatever you feel is more convenient

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

Yes that’s actually a very good point. I am not a prepster so I don’t know exactly how it feels, but I do know that the preparers in my squad and platoon weren’t good, which means that they acted like they had a chip on the shoulder because they went to prep school. Things you should do is to...

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

So you might want a desk lamp depending on where your desk is. All the rooms at West Point are made for two man rooms, but we have to squeeze three to four people in there, so not every desk has a light. It is just the luck of the draw. I would bring a very small light weight one. As for the...

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

There will be a station where you turn in contraband items such as phones and smartwatches. they will put in an envelope and they will get it back after the march back. Do not bring too much. I am dead serious on this. A bag over 25 pounds is too much. Bring the bear minimum, because you get...

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

    1. There are only two barracks they use for beast and they are in great shape, so don't worry about that. 2. There are so many things to say. One, during beast, blend in, don't stand out, be a team player and remember you aren't getting graded so don't try to be a know it all and don't screw...

    Dress socks

The black socks they issue us are not the best, so I would highly recommend buying your own comfortable socks. Hanes is what I use. I know that this summer we will be walking around a lot and it would be to your new cadets benefit to have cushioned socks. those low quarters are very hard on the...

Want Some Tips for Beast? Ask away!

Hello future new cadets and those curious about USMA. I am a current cadet and will be cadre for this summer's Cadet Basic Training, CBT. I am currently in my train up for beast and thought I might ease some minds with basic questions, comments, or concerns. I knew I had a lot of questions, some...

    CFA scoring

All I know is that I applied this year, got in for clas of 2021, and I could retake it as many times as possible.

    CFA scoring

If I have learned anything form being the class of 2021, there are many rules that have changed every year so don't assume rules are still the same because they might not be. Like the packing list is completely different on what you can and cannot bring. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same...

    Weight Standard Question

well if you are worried, just look at your candidate portal and it tells you exactly what height you need to be at. it also tells you what method they use and you can just google how they tape. My mom and I have been doing that since January so when R-Day comes I won't be surprised.

    Club Tryouts at Beast

Do you think i could get in contact with him because I know I can mentally do it. I just want to start preparing alittle and know exactly what I am getting into there.

    Club Tryouts at Beast

I have a question for anyone who has already gone through beast or would know this answer. I am really interested in trying out for the Crew team but I am not sure how it works. What should I have prepared for? What should I expect? If anyone has been on a crew team, how can I start working out...

How soon should you contact your local Representative, Senator, or Governor?

As a USMA 2021, you don't need to know the reps or anyone. I know that I got lucky and had my field force and my BGO be interviewers, but the interview with BGO ended up with me NOT getting a nomination from the senator. So knowing someone doesn't always mean you will get a nom.

    SLE Affect on Application

So I went to SLE last year, didn't get a direct appointment but I got an AoG Scholarship. Like everyone, it isn't guaranteed but it does look good if you haven't had any leadership opportunities until then

    Will today be the day?

    CVW

Once you start applying, you could ask your BGO. But like it said, it's by invitation. I was invited as a junior so I had no idea how they got my information or anything.
