I would like to know about electric blankets. Are they okay to have? I hear that the heat in the dorms can be sketchy in the winter, and it seems sensible to have something to supplement during the cold periods.

My son and I have been using MSN Messenger to keep in touch at the Academy. He has not been able access it for a few days, and I wondered if anyone else at the Academy uses MSN Messenger and if they are having any trouble with it. It's been a a great format for us to use and I miss it!

I saw her post on the yahoo group..but interpreted it inaccurately. I thought that it meant they could go after their LMD (I was taking that to mean his class). My guess is academics is not part of the LMD...so much to learn!

Quick question for those older, wiser cadets..How much time does it take to get to the COS airport from the Academy? Taxi is an option. My son's last class is at 4:30 on the 24th. Can he make it to the airport in time to catch a 6:05pm flight out? He would have his boarding pass already...

In my son's second letter home he mentions that the cadre are giving out "form 431's like candy". He says that he has not received one yet and that he is glad of it. What is that all about?

We took our son to the Academy on the 25th. We met up with some cadre that had my son put his bag in a tent to hold why he did his inprocessing. Somehow, and I'm still not sure exactly how it came down, he got into the express line and before he or we knew it, he was over the bridge and unable...

I called the clinic and asked if my son could take his prescription acne medication Benza-Clin with him to inprocessing. They said as long as he had a prescription for it and he brought the prescription with him, it would be allowed.

I saw this a few days ago and searched out what further I could find out. According to the USAFA, this student was never given an appointment. Which makes it an even MORE interesting story...Wonder what this guy was up to...

Tri-Counties (north of you), basically Simi Valley up to San Luis Obispo. Had a GREAT day. Learned so much from the parents and cadets. Some had just graduated and were so very interesting to talk to. I also saw some beautiful USAFA rings! The cadets were very proud of them.
