    CFA, Videos, and Prior Test

Hello and thank you ahead of time. My daughter had an injury and was given extra time for the CFA which she is going to do this week. She just noticed on the form that you can request scores from a prior CFA. She took it for AFA. She is emailing about it but thought I'd ask here too. Would...

    Nomination Status Question

Looks like she also received the Presidential and Congressional for West Point as well. She could follow in her big brother's footsteps (he graduated from USMA in June)

    Nomination Status Question

Trying to make sense of my daughter's portal. She only did one nomination interview. Under 'Nomination Status' it says "Status: Received" and then "Nominators: Presidential" and her Congressman's name. Does that just mean they received word that she is qualified for the Presidential and...

    Nom Interview Mishap

A bit different but five years ago, my son's very first interview was for Army ROTC. After he was told that his short answers needed some work. He was sure he bombed. He received the Army ROTC scholarship in the first round. He chose West Point though and graduated in June. All this to say...

Air Force Academy Back up Plan

Don't discount ERAU. My daughter received an AFROTC Type 7 in the first round and the Diamond Eagle scholarship ($26,000 a year). Along with Bright Futures, a grant and some other smaller scholarships, she's set if she does not get an Academy.

    Flexed Arm Hang Question

Good news! The JROTC instructor told her she was holding the bar incorrectly. He showed her the proper grip and she got over 40 seconds! She passed her CFT. Thank you!

    Flexed Arm Hang Question

Thank you for the replies. She is bound and determined to get that pull up. Sadly, that pulled muscle set her back and there is no way to get it before her test this week. They already offered her a month to heal (she injured herself just before her CFT) so not sure they will offer again...

    Flexed Arm Hang Question

My daughter was really working on getting her pull up and was close but ended up injured. She had a CT scan and was told she had a pulled muscle. The AFA told her they'd give her an extra month for the CFA which gave her a couple weeks to start working out again. She doesn't seem to have...

AFROTC Type 7 and ERAU in Florida

Hello. My daughter was awarded the Type 7 AFROTC scholarship. If anybody here has been awarded the Type 7 and attended ERAU in Florida, I'd be interested in hearing your experience with tuition. Sounds like converting to Type 2 would be the preferred way to go? Did ERAU offer scholarship...

ROTC Fitness Test and Interview Question

Been here long enough to know to read the old posts. I was seeing some different answers and love that people are quick to respond here if something is a bit confusing. A lot going on here with my son having graduated from a military academy and getting him ready to move into his first...

ROTC Fitness Test and Interview Question

Hello. Five years ago my son won the four-year ROTC scholarship. He did the interview and later the physical fitness test. My daughter is starting the process and thought somebody had mentioned she has to have the physical fitness test completed first before the interview. Is this the case...

    Rejected from USNA

I'm a big believer that when a door shuts, you can open it again. That's how doors work. If this is your dream, focus on the reapplication process. In the meantime, look at a Plan B or even Plan C school. Best of luck to you.

Looks like they've pushed out the dates to July for our Girls State. Hoping it is still a go.
