    Packing for Summer Seminar

Well it says that you can bring a slumber bag too, which is basically a fleece sack for summer camping or something. My friend just got back from Session 2 and told me to just bring a blanket.

    Packing for Summer Seminar

It says to bring a sleeping bad or slumber bag (whatever that is). Do we really need to bring that? I mean, as long as I have something soft to sleep on I'm good. I didn't use the covers at West Point and I'm assuming Air Force will be the same.

    AIM applications/curious

You know, the green guy from Mario? I wish I could attend AIM this year. I'm going to the USMA and USAFA summer programs and the West Point one was great and I'm looking forward to Air Force. AIM would have been a third week of great experiences and I wish my prior engagments hadn't have...

    Packing for Summer Seminar

Oh cool. I already took and passed the CFA at USMA SLS, so this should be a relaxed workout session. Good to hear.

    Packing for Summer Seminar

I suppose its too late to start running, isn't it. Definatley do not want to have to take the CFA again after taking it at USMA. There's no way I'll do better with the altitude anyway.

    CFA at SLS

Dude, you can max out pushups and situps. You will do fine. I was average for most and above average for only one event. You will pass easy. Just make sure you make it to the trash can after the mile run.

CFA Pics from SLS 2nd Session - 2nd Platoon

    2nd Platoon/ 2nd Squad. Hooah.

    Packing for Summer Seminar

Hmm, thanks for all the advice. One quick question: At the West Point SLS, each seperate platoon was issued different colored PT shirts. This was nice to tell the groups a part and also because we got to trade colors so I wasn't stuck with 2 of the exact same shirt. Are they different...

    SLS Tips?

I'll have a Memphis shirt on most likely. I'll try and create a Facebook plus picture sometime in the next few days so we can put faces to names.

    SLS Tips?

So SLS (for me) is in a week or so. Any tips or advice that anyone has for all of us? Perhaps usefull items/clothes that may not be on the packing list. Or will the packing list be absolutely all I need? Perhaps a way to have fun near the airport while waiting for planes to arrive?

    Medical School

Is there any way that you can elaborate on this? Are you saying that you could be military full time but then earn a doctorate in your free time? I'm confused about how this would work.

    ACT Scores

Highest composite is 34, superscore is 35. Wasn't aware that the USMA superscored ACT. Most northern schools don't superscore the ACT (some don't even accept it).

    Boy's State

Well, I recently found out about someone in my district right here on this board, so I guess there's at least two of us considering. I wish there was a way to attend both. I've never really been involved in Youth Legislature at school, but I follow politics and would love an...

    Boy's State

Thanks for all the replies. As much as I would love to attend Boy's State, USMA SLS is a higher priority for me. I figure if I'm well off enough to make it into SLS, then I don't need the extra topping on my leadership repertoire. I hadn't noticed this until Jake pointed it out, but the...

    Boy's State

I've got an opportunity through my school to go to Boy's State this year. Problem is, I signed up for the first SLS session and the dates conflict. Is it possible for me to move to the second session of SLS and go to both (also going to AFA SS)? Is it worth it to go through the trouble?

    Senior Year Classes

Hmm, since this thread is here I might as well ask here. At my school, 6 classes is a full course load and 5 is considered the easy load. 7 is overloading. I have had 6-7 classes per year for my first three years of high school with 3 APs (counting this year). Senior year I am only taking...

    SLS and AFA Summer Seminar

Oh wow. Going to both of those sessions and from West Tennessee (Memphis).

    New "Multi-Cam" Uniforms

Yea, my pick was based on the fact that the military doesn';t like change and would most likely keep the same calibre. A cheap way to replace the M4 is to use the Barrett REC7 which is basically just a receiver change to 6.8 instead of 5.56. I don't know... I feel like the 5.56 round is...

    New "Multi-Cam" Uniforms

Glad to hear that someone else here appreciates the Swiss K31. My favorite rifle to shoot and accurate as anything. I wish the military would just get off of the 5.56 round. Sure it works in the Middle East, but if the US gets in a war with a well equipped foe (ie: body armor) the 5.56 will...

    2010 SLS Acceptance!!!

Also from Tennessee. In session one though. Weird, I'm the only Tennessean going to AFA SS on this board, but there are already 3 going to SLS. Week 1 Daughter--TX beat navy--NJ SVG--CT Wang93--TX tallbutshort--CA x-ImPuLse-PL woodingsjg.2011--IN Stormtrooper30 -- TN Week 2...
