IMHO, it's more likely than not that some favoritism or nepotism is at work when choosing principal nominee. That's human nature. I strongly doubt it happens in the admissions process. Still CPR.

IMHO, underrepresented minorities (i.e., African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans) have an edge -- whether civilian colleges or the academies. If you're one and come from a challenging socio-economic background, that's even better. Asian-Americans typically are not underrepresented...
