    USMA Post Night 2021

ROTC Cadet here who is commissioning in a few months. I understand USMA normally does a livestreamed "post night" in early February and I'd love to watch (and see what duty station slots are available). I googled a bit but couldn't find the date - could anyone tell me when this will be and if...

When to Begin Applications for AROTC Summer Programs

I'm a contracted MSI cadet and I definitely want to attend a school/training/etc this summer, especially one that would boost my OML score. How soon should/can I start any of the application process? I've heard a large factor is just getting everything in on time so I definitely want to start as...

    ROTC Tolerance of MIPs

Wow, that's surprising. I would've thought it would be a lot longer, especially because scholarship winners already owe 4-8 years as an officer. Unless that time enlisted comes with reduced pay or something similar.

    ROTC Tolerance of MIPs

This is off topic, but does anyone know how long people have to enlist for to pay off the scholarship? I've heard this mentioned many times but have never heard for how long so I'm curious.

    Chances at AROTC Scholarship?

The most important things you can do at this point are try to improve SAT/ACT, work on the physical test, and do well on the interview. Good luck.

    AROTC PFT Average Score

I was awarded a 4-year AROTC scholarship this past year and my physical scores weren't very good for a male, I think around 32/60/6:58 push-up/sit-up/1-mile. I've heard to get the maximum score for males you need 50/50/6:30. However, the physical test is a relatively small part of the...

Which ROTC program is the best?

I went through this decision this past year and ultimately chose Army. These are some reasons I did: (Note: this might not all be 100% accurate, but to the best of my knowledge it is) -I personally don't want to major in STEM. Army gives very little to no preference to STEM majors when awarding...

    Cadet Roommate

Thanks for the advice everyone. I would consider living off-campus, but the school I am planning on attending waives room & board fees for scholarship cadets (worth ~$12,000/year), so I don't think I can justify turning that down.

    Cadet Roommate

Thanks so much for the responses. They give me a lot to think about. What I'm concerned about most is being able to go to sleep early without being woken up and then wake up early without disturbing my roommate. I would think both of these would be difficult with a roommate who isn't a cadet.

    Cadet Roommate

Hi, I will be starting college next year on a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship and am hoping to get some advice. I will be living on-campus for likely all four years. Do cadets often room with other cadets? I'm thinking there are a lot of advantages to this, specifically getting up at the same time...

Dual Enrollment & AP GPA for AROTC

I will be starting Army ROTC as a college freshmen next year and I am currently considering taking a dual enrollment class during my last semester of high school. Would my grade from the dual enrollment class affect my cumulative college GPA used in AROTC accessions/ranking? Also, if I am...

    Updates to Boarded Application

I believe once you've been boarded once you won't be boarded again. So you'll remain "Boarded" and your board score won't change. However, some parts of the application can still be updated before the next round of scholarships are awarded, and activities might be one of those parts. Besides...

    Should I take the ASVAB?

I'm also just a high schooler, but I asked this recently and you can see the responses here: http://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/putting-asvab-score-on-arotc-app.51438/ Basically, apparently no matter how well you do, ROTC and academies won't care about ASVAB scores. Put your...

What's my best pathway for the army?

I recommend looking into Wake Forest as well. It's a top university that is test-optional. I'm just a high schooler like you, but I've met with the WFU AROTC cadre and toured the school and I was very impressed.
