    he should talk to his unit about authorized boots. My unit for instance, only allows the wear of black, steel-toed 9in boots with type 3s unless we're doing a boots/utes workout.     I’m a Mid and I just got back from NWPT 1. All S/T itierations outside of NWPT 1/2 have been cancelled. Sea Trials is no longer a mandatory program and is not pass/fail. I’d be surprised if S/T survives into 2019-2020.

    I have to also say that all three of us were scholarship recipients in high school so were contractually bound to the Navy. Brown was obligied to provide us with all necessary tools to allow us to fulfill our end of the service contract but it’s unclear what the situation would be for college...

    I heard that the Navy is changing its 3rd class cruise too, but I'm not sure if we're allowed to disclose details

    It is pretty hard, and may even be harder than getting into the college you want to attend for NROTC... There are a lot of moving parts (literally, like the PFT) and the interview, which actually matters unlike many college interviews. But the key is that's it's not impossible.
