    The final count down!

To all of the posters who have "been there, done that" and even those who haven't - Thank you SO MUCH for all of the help and advice along the way. You have truly been an invaluable resource. I hope to pay it forward come August, but for now, I'm outta here :thumb:

    Entrance on I Day

I believe it is just over a mile, although it certainly feels shorter. As an added bonus, the walk TO the Naval Academy is downhill! I suspect MANY Plebes and Plebe Parents will be making the same walk; I will be :thumb:

    College Applicant: Candidate Academic Information

I think it would be a good idea to double check with your regional director. They shouldn't be too busy right now with the Class of 2014 all wrapped up and the Class of 2015 barely started, so this might also be a good opportunity to ask your regional director what areas of your application you...

    College Applicant: Candidate Academic Information

IrishDancer, I applied as a college student for the Class of 2014. I did have my HS Guidance Counselor fill out the Candidate Academic Information as well as verify my Candidate Activities Record. Make sure to include your anticipated college schedule where the application asks for it, and be...

    Recomendations>? (for 2011)

Nick, Ask your teachers to check their spam folders! High School email systems are notorious for sending Naval Academy emails to the spam folder, or worse, deleting them altogether! If the missing emails are not found in the spam folder, you will have to contact the Candidate Guidance...

    CIS Password

Yes, the password has been changed. An email containing the new password was sent out on Thursday May 6th. If you did not receive the email, I would suggest calling the Candidate Guidance Office - they will be happy to provide it for you.

    Application Help

Well, first off, definitely make sure that you do include your violation in the appropriate section. To leave it off would not only bring your conduct, but also your honor, into question when it does show up on your background check. If your offense is a misdemeanor, I believe your...

Plebes - Bancroft Room Assignment & Roomates

You find out your room/roommates when you get there (I-Day), so you can't contact them ahead of time. I believe everyone moves to a different room after plebe summer as you move from the plebe summer housing to your regular company area. Whether you keep the same roommates, are assigned new...

    C or W

Wow - that was a big typo that changed the whole meaning of my post! And to top it off I can't edit it! Oops... What I mean to say is that a "W" looks just like an F (at least at the two schools I have taken classes at) and is calculated in your GPA as 0.0 for however many credits the course...

    C or W

At many colleges, a C looks just like an F and is calculated into your GPA as if you got an F. If this is the case at your school I would definitely NOT withdraw unless I was absolutely certain that I would be getting a D or an F. My suggestion (as a current college student who has taken...

    Permit to Report Packet

HeyClaire, I am pretty sure waviers are only for active orthodontic treatement, but if you are worried, I would contact the Academy - the staff othodontist's phone number is on pg 6 section 13d of the PTR instruction booklet. Good Luck.

    Permit to Report Packet

The orthodontic waiver is only for people who currently have something glued to their teeth (hence, the need for a wavier). If you had braces, but they are off now, you do not need a wavier. If he never had braces, he definitely does not need this form :)

    Nrotc tulane...anyone?

The ROTC sub-forum is used to discuss AROTC, NROTC, and AFROTC. That would be the right place to post your question. Good Luck!

    CABS

The email says that it is only being sent to those who have accepted their appointments. Also, it seems like it is being sent either individually or in very small batches (everyone on this board has received it at a different time/day), so be patient!

    CABS

It says you can't print it out, save it or discuss its content with anyone, sorry... Remember that the whole point of these tests is to place you in the class you need to be in by identifying what you do and don't know. If you do the best you can, things will work out the way they should!

    CABS

I completed the math placement tests today. After I finished the tenth section, it asked me if I wanted to try to validate calculus. I clicked yes but haven't taken the calc exams yet. I already have the AP score needed to validate, but I want to brush up a little before I do the validation...

    Sending in a birth certificate

pilotmom15, Pretty sure that this is a trick question... Copies from vital records (at least in my state - PA) do have a raised seal! I would suggest calling your state's vital records department as I was unable to verify that Maryland's copies do in fact have raised seals, but I bet that...

    Sending in a birth certificate

I sent mine to U.S. Naval Academy Nominations and Appointments Office 117 Decatur Road Annapolis, MD 21402-5019 because the sheet about birth certificates said to send it to the Nominations and Appointments Office, and that was the address for Nominations and Appointments given on...

    Holding off on Preliminary?

Navy15, I think people are holding off on giving you advise because what you are asking for is more of an opinion than information. Here is my opinion (just that, nothing less, nothing more): I don't think 5'10" 198 lbs is that big at all considering that you are a football player. I...
