@FCH76 Which prep school did he go to? I didn't realize that preppies retake the tests.

Two questions. Do those who go to prep school need a nomination the following year? If they do, it possible for a preppie to win a MOC slate above other candidates with high stats? (It would seem they went to prep school for an academic boost but don't retake the SAT, ACT).

We've been operating under the assumption that the portal only updates once a day early in the a.m., but in another post someone said there can be portal updates at other times of the day. Can anyone confirm if this is true or if we should not expect to hear anything new until tomorrow morning?

This is the first time I have heard this. I thought the portal only updated once a day very early in the a.m., anyone heard of a middle of the day or evening update? If this is really true I will find DS checking his portal even more obsessively. LOL

Question for appointees. What was your deadline to accept appointment? 4/15 or 5/1?

We can't deduce according to the previous years because every year is different. This year's looking real different than other years. That said, I feel like we may see a mixed wave of BFE's and TWE's this week. Didn't some people say they went on a tour last month and what they heard from...

@In-the-Know Thank you. Can you please tell us when we can expect another wave of appointments, if another is coming?

I read somewhere that they look at each file at least twice. If they are only now doing the first look through it does sound like they are way behind!

@Rileighsevig Did you mean BGO (USNA) or ALO (USAFA)? Could this mean the ranking of the National Pool, in other words after MOC slates are done?

Actually, if you read posts from previous years there have been a number of reports from candidates receiving a TWE (denial) and then later receiving offers for Prep, Falcon, and even in some cases an appointment!

To clarify, in the post Christcorp didn't say that the academies communicated with each other on who they appoint. He said that they notified the other SA's when someone accepted an appointment. Things may have changed since then but I defer to his knowledge as a long time ALO familiar with the...

I didn't think so either but the post was from @Christcorp who is a very knowledgable ALO. It was an old post, maybe things have changed. That's why I said to check with the SA's.
