Weight of packed items ....35 lbs.

I'm bringing about 20 pairs of socks plus toiletries, a fan, first aid stuff, a notebook, plus other miscellaneous things and my bag only comes out to 14lbs.

My bag is over half that. Remember that on R-Day you're carrying that plus more all day.

West Point Barracks/addresses for new cadet candidates

Best guess is the plebes in each company will just matriculate into their respective companies with the upperclassmen.

West Point Barracks/addresses for new cadet candidates

I understand it has been different in previous years. However, I've heard from multiple people that there will be no scramble after CBT.

West Point Barracks/addresses for new cadet candidates

Both a 2019 and 2020 cadet, one of whom is a cadre for first detail.

West Point Barracks/addresses for new cadet candidates

There is no scramble after CBT. Whatever company you are in over summer will be the same during the academic year.

    Low Quarter Socks

From what I've been told, you need permission to recieve packages and that only comes after a few weeks.

    Low Quarter Socks

Definitely bring at least a few "good" pairs of socks for each uniform. Number 1 rule is to take care of your feet.

    Showers - SLE

It's all open. There are showerheads along the walls and everyone of the same gender in your platoon showers together.

    8th semester transcripts

Give it another week and send again. Also bring a hard copy to rday in case they lose yours. That way you prevent getting put into wrong classes based on grades.

    losing weight

A lot of people I talked to said they lost at most 5 lbs over CBT while some actually gained weight.

    CFA @ SLE

Make sure you do your pull ups with quality form and at a cadence. While there the cadre will tell you when to go up and down and trust me, they aren't generous. Be used to running in cool morning weather because you'll be taking the CFA at 0700 on an empty stomach.

Am I competitive in terms of PSAT?

Strive to reach the 1400 range to truly make yourself competitive. Also SAT scores a just a small part of what makes a competitive applicant. Luckily you have time to improve your file. PM me if you have questions. Good luck.

    Haircut requirements for SLE

Get it trimmed so it's not sloppy and it'll help maintaining it since you only will have about 10 minutes to get ready each morning. There's no hair "standard" for SLE CC's but keep in mind you are going to a military academy so a well groomed haircut will give yourself a better appearance. Also...

    Which iPad did you pick?

Do you get to keep the laptop/iPad after graduation?

    Which iPad did you pick?

I got the 258GB. Don't worry too much about the iOS taking up much space, it'll be less than 10GB max. Also when I was on my overnight visit, both my Plebe and my upperclassmen friends used it for their military science classes along with other online textbooks.

    Which iPad did you pick?

I got the most expensive one without cellular. The price of the iPad has no bearing on how much you get paid monthly so I chose the highest one to ensure it stays as up-to-date as possible in terms of software.

Can someone provide more insight on slates and nominations in general?

The other 6 were from another nominating source or the NWL.
