Hi Onee...I really dont get one here that often anymore, my posts are from last year, my son did NOT get an appointment to the USNA....got a TURN DOWN, even though he has some stellar qualitites, very sad situation, but all is well now...he accepted a full academic scholarship to the second...

CONGRATS on the CVW invite...that is BIG honor...if you can...DEFINITELY go...son went and loved it. Just a heads up, they will evaluate you at the CVW...so be on your toes...(They also will evaluate you at the NASS as well!!) Take a sleeping bag/pillow/and do not wear jeans...

Does anyone know if the TWE is always BAD news? How do they notify the recipients that are awarded a scholarship? Is it a form letter as well?

AND...lots of kids that went to NASS and CVW do not get appointments as well...:frown:

You know why none of you have heard yet??? It takes LONGER to mail the BBF's...They are much heavier than the TWE'S!!! (Wishful thinking!!) Hang in there all...wishing you the BEST of luck!!:biggrin:

I think LUCK has NOTHING to do with it...I think it is the result of the USNA lowering the bar for certain applicants...and, I believe all Academies have their thorns...However, I feel the "thorns" should be removed before they have the chance to become questionable "leaders' Of our military...

Thank you mudvillemom...I appreciate that...we are still trying to figure out how and why, but son is moving on at the speed of light..LOL!!! He never was one to sit and let grass grow under his feet. I am always so proud of both of my sons (I have a 20 year old Pre-Med college student as well)...

Oh my...Dear Karen...I am so sorry to hear of this!! I know how you feel...believe me...it is just like a grieving process, one minute OK, next, deep sadness for your son. My son is exactly like yours, committed, strong morals and very disciplined, has never even gotten a B on his report card...

Son is out of the running..told today he was turned down for USNA appointment...best of luck to all still waiting!

Son applied OCTOBER 2009, no word yet, finished his intereview Oct.28th...

You KNOW how sorry I am to hear the news Shortmom...I think your daughter will do great with PLAN B...but I was hoping she and my son would meet at USNA(IF my son even gets there...who knows!!??)....My best wishes are with you, my friend!! :thumbdown:
