My son is currently on my health insurance and it’s a family plan so it doesn’t cost us anything extra for him to stay on. Is there any reason he should drop the private insurance and go on Tricare? Also, can he use Tricare as supplemental insurance to pay for any copays or deductibles?
I am the proud parent of a newly commissioned Army officer who had a very successful 4 years in ROTC. I was new to all of this 4 years ago and admittedly anxious, but I have learned a lot and am happy to answer any questions you may have (from a parent’s perspective).
I’m not sure is this is the right place to ask, but my son doesn’t know the answers. He will commission in May. At that point is his medical insurance covered by the army and is there a cost? Trying to budget my insurance costs for next year - I’m happy to keep him on my policy if he can use it...
I think i’ve reached the limit of questions I can ask my cadet for a while so I’m asking here. I understand that the preferred lists came out today, he will rank his preferences again and then wait to find out his branch in late Nov. But how does each army branch select cadets and how likely is...
My son will be attending advanced camp this summer then will go straight to an Army internship so I am considering going to the graduation, if that’s a thing to do.
Does anyone know if parents will be able to watch the Ranger Challenge this year? I believe they have in the past, but things may be different this year with Covid restrictions. Thank you
Now that the battalions seem to be starting the ACFT, at least for practice, what is a good score? I know the minimums but what’s considered most competitive?
My son is a freshman in AROTC. He loves it, and plans on a military career. I understand that a lot can happen over the next 4 years, but I would like to show support now by adding an Army flag to my flagpole which already flies a US flag. What is the proper flag to fly to show support without...
will we be sent information or do I need to go in the website? It’s a 3 year scholarship but the school gives 4 years room and board so I’m thinking I need to get cleared this year even though scholarship kicks in next year, but I don’t know.
if someone were to get a scholarship of less than 4 years, and then gets commissioned after ROTC, does the Army provide any assistance or a repayment delay for college loans that may have been taken out?
can someone be part of the AROTC and still pursue a 5 year MS degree in Occupational Therapy or Athletic Training? Does it matter if they are on scholarship? These programs don’t award a bachelors degree, just the Masters after 5 years.
im rethinking and overthinking the order I listed my colleges in. Found something out about my #1 that downgrades it and want to move my number 4 to the number 1 or 2 spot now. I am guessing I shouldn’t make any changes at this point and should just wait it out and see what happens. Or is there...
