Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

Yes, according to the Lt everyone will get a letter if not selected but he did say none would go out until all the final decisions are made.

Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

I spoke with a Lt in Pensacola yesterday. He told me because of the huge increase (about 2000) more applicants this year than last and less scholarships available there would be 2 boards held in April instead of the one normally held. He also said this was the 1st time that letters were sent out...

Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

Subdude, yep, we assume he is still in the running because his status still states no decision made and obviously we havent gotten a letter from them telling us its a no go. I have often wondered in this competitive year if unless you have the 1400+SAT scores, much leadership, etc. if you...

Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

Subdude, Don't think it was lack of space in your daughter's choices. Two of those on her list are on my son's, and actually one is his 1st choice and the other his 2nd, and so far he is still in the "running" for a scholarship.

Has anyone gotten a NROTC scholarship lately?

My son's scores disappeared too overnight but we have not had a score change. Plus I talked with a Lt in Fla and he told me no changes could be made to the packets after I think he said Feb.18th, but with the "strangeness" that seems to be this year who knows.

AROTC Status Update from January Board

The review process is not just one day, it will last the entire week. Those who have DODMERB accounts have found out within a few days, others have taken up to two weeks.

    Jan. 26th NROTC board.

I spoke with a Lt in Fla last week and he told me the board will actually meet for the entire week and will review on avg 500 packets. Bet that makes for a long week

Did anyone get an NROTC scholarship?

That number certainly looks better than the 600 that was spoken of earlier. Still, it is obvious this is a highly competitive year to attain a scholarship based on the stats of those who have not been successful so far.

    Still Waiting for NROTC

Sounds like he has good plans in place. Also, I would think he could join the NROTC at the college he decides to attend it they have it. If my son doesnt end up with a scholarship that option isnt available his 1st year because the school he will attend doesnt have it.

    Still Waiting for NROTC

So sorry that you received this bad news but sounds as though he has many good options. Did your scholarship status page not reflect he wouldnt be getting a scholarship because a few parents/ applicants have posted in the last few days their page was showing a scholarship wouldnt be offered.

    NROTC scholarship craziness

"The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application". This was the last change that occured on my sons page back in Jan. Many others have guessed until that statement appears you package hasnt been reviewed., but no one knows for sure.

    Updating NROTC Application

Is it too late to send in an updated SAT score? Somehow we missed that you can mix SAT/ACT results, which would result in a 30 pt increase for my son.

Did anyone get an NROTC scholarship?

http://www.news.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=49528 Interesting article addressing just this topic. If he is correct and they are only going to offer 600 scholarships that would be an almost 75% reduction from last year (2800 to 600). The article states about 1200 were accepted last year...

    NROTC Scholarship Forms

You must complete the application on-line. I went to the NROTC page and it states to check back for the 2011 applications to become active. Good luck
