If that was the take away, then I was not clear. Certainly not my intent nor point.
And maybe explains some of the defensiveness.
This is not that hard. Several potential answers that would make the whole question go away:
1) It's not that unusual to do day one recycles for officers after...
The debate definitions Ad Hominem and Genetic Fallacy come to mind.
And by the way, I look good in my Pearls! :-)
Not worth wasting further time over this discussion. It's really just a philosophical corallary of Godwin's law...
the longer a discussion goes on the more likely shift personal...
Toxic subject, I'm done
Just was surprised to hear someone from what I assumed was still aviation speaking on behalf of RTB. I'd love to have done your job, I had to pay for my flight time.
Glad to hear. I would never have been concerned until you showed the level of venom in a comment...
Fair enough. Though you'd think you'd think public statements by RTB leadership and PAO would not be out of alignment with your privy info.
Really. Attack my son now??? He sure did his share of trash details while waiting for class. Its what the non-privy folks had to do while waiting for...
Point being, while the odds are lower, a substantial number of non IN, or even non maneuver types manage well enough at patrols to graduate. So the "they were not used to doing Infantry Patrolling" public comments did not help.
Fair enough... Except... it was information that was very publicly...
I actually agree with your core point you ended up with, but your "And what position are you in to question it?" comment speaks for itself.
Fair enough, it does appear to be common. But primarily from those that did not make it. "I was 48'ed", etc.
But it was interesting to me that DS, when...
Knowing multiple YG2014 & 2015 LT's who tabbed, failed to tab, or are still trying to tab... there definitely appear to have been anomalies. Not compromising the "standards" per se. But opportunities rarely (if ever) provided to male officers. Ex:
- Not being dropped for failing the same phase...
Fort Benning suppliers were saying June a couple of weeks ago (some still are). I'd have to assume similar for USMA.
Belleville 310 & C390 are both a bit old school. But many folks love the 390's, and some swear by the 310's for comfy Garrison stuff (milder tread).
Khybers are more aggressive...
Apparently nine 2016 female grads headed for Infantry (ROTC and USMA). I think I read somewhere that 7 were from USMA.
No read yet on how many 2014 & 2015 applied.
Great Mexican taquira hidden in the back of a Mexican grocery just outside of the Northwest gate. Best Mexican food I've ever had. (Real Mexican, not tex-mex, Cali-mex, corporate-mex)
If interested I'll dig out a street address, it's not obvious.
Anyone thinking of sandbagging the validation/placement exams, USMA will often resection plebe courses midterm and you'll be move up to a harder section.
Just take the exam, do your best and it'll be fine.
I don't understand the 5 guys love either. The one cult burger (in TX anyway) that I found to be good is whaddaburger.
Whitecastle, Varsity (Atlanta), etc to me is sub burger king or Wendy's! (heresy, I know)
Not a new thing, but the recent buzzing of a destroyer by Russian attack planes in an attack type run is certainly interesting:

Thanks for the clarification, the BCT flavors are hard for outsiders to keep straight.
And did I mislabeled the ABCT? I keep hearing them referred to as heavy BCTs (HBCT)s and I've seen serving officers and even publications refer to them. Old terminology?
Likewise, I hear light guys...
Congrats and beat of luck for your son in the competition!
If on post its also worth at least a drive by Eubanks field and Airborne walk. Time it before late afternoon and you may see the trainees in action. Jump towers, etc. A loop through the main drags (Dixie? 8th division road? Lumpkin?) Is...
Very likely, like most things Army there appear to be exceptions. And things change, back in 2011-2013 it apparently was almost automatic that IN officers were slotted for Airborne after IBOLC/RS if they did not have it.
I'm wondering if it depends on how their orders were written at...
You can smile, consistently the last few years that IN has been pretty competitive, and even with the largest number of slots goes fairly high in OML.
I don't have the 2015 stats handy, but do have 2013 in my phone. Just one year's snapshot, but 2014 and 2015 are similar. If I recall, Aviation...
Apologies if I over answered or did not hit your question. I was somewhat answering for the parents of current Cadets because this is a topic of high interest.
My read as a civvie parent observing from the peanut gallery: she will be forced branched or the Army's going to run into significant...
This very much has changed. Branch rivalries aside, IN now starts very high in the OML. I'd have to check, but from memory half of the top ten order of merit list from USMA 2015 went Infantry, and that trend carried through to the top 50. It's the biggest branch, so it has the most slots...
