    New Cadets/Rising Plebes...check in!

Beast was an awesome experience. The cadre weren't looking to haze the mess out of us (some were...) but they didn't give up any chance to do some physical corrective training-I learned to square myself and my squad members away pretty quickly. Biggest surprise: learning so much so fast...

    Biggest worries about Beast?

I would say that I'm most fearful about the verbatim memorization and sporadic knowledge required of new cadets. The rigorous physical requirements seem daunting but achievable. Most excited about getting acquainted with my new buddy the M16.

    Universal Acceptance

I applied to naval academy, air force academy, and military academy. I only had the chance to be nominated to air force and west point, received both nominations and appointments. I chose usma (obvious choice in my opinion) 2014

It may be a little too soon to be thinking about retirement, but I'm curious. Does the 20 years before pension start on A-day or graduation?

"will she be issued another pair of boots on R-day? And if so, will she have a choice in which ones?" From what I've gleaned, you must have two pairs of boots after R-day. I have heard that if you arrive with one pair of boots broken in, they will issue you another pair of "issue boots" which...

    R-day Low quarters.

I bought my low quarters at the px on my visit to West Point with the intention of breaking them in before R-day. When I arrive on R-day, should I already have a base coat of polish on my low quarters or should I plan on starting fresh based on how the cadre may tell me to polish? Thanks guys.

USMA Graduation: Where do I go?

I've been reading threads for months and really appreciate all the answers I've seen. Maybe I accidentally skipped over this topic, but I am wondering about cadets' choices of jobs after graduation. I recently received my appointment to West Point, and I plan on entering with a major in...
