Looking for AFROTC schools to apply RD

One more thing about CMU: if you have a full ROTC scholarship, they award you $8,000 scholarship for room and board annually! I’d say that CMU looks favorably upon having ROTC students within their study body kix.

Looking for AFROTC schools to apply RD

Reach out to the NROTC at CMU (hear me out!). Although CMU has NROTC Pitt has AROTC and AFROTC literally next door. Environment is very positive for ROTC students with all of these programs right there. There is a gentleman at CMUs NROTC program who acts as kind of a liaison for ALL ROTC kids at...

    Army ROTC Internships

My DD sent me an email last evening of some agencies/areas she looked at for internships and as another poster indicated, leveraging that your DS is in ROTC is very much of interest to interviewers. Also, keep in mind my DD's interested in International Security...

    Army ROTC Internships

I'll ask her where she got the ideas to look and report back to you. I know her school is big on internships and she may have gotten some help from her school's advisor.

    Army ROTC Internships

Hi! My DD did a summer internship at C5ISR at Fort Belvoir after her MS2 year. She said it was a great experience, she learned a lot, and was well paid (unlike one she did during her spring semester as an MS2. She interned with a handful of West Point students and a couple of ROTC students...

DD is a current MSII and 4-yr AROTC National Scholarship Recipient. She has some interest in doing SMP her junior and senior years for drill pay and has been told you get OML points. She is interested in military intelligence, which she knows is highly competitive, so she is looking for any...

    ROTC Review?

I too thought it was a great idea for all the reasons you say. I just hadn’t heard of anyone talking about it before so I thought I’d ask! She finally gave a short reply that it was things like attitude, volunteerism, participation, friendliness/making friends, effort.

    ROTC Review?

It’s finals time, so I am trying not to distract my DD with too many questions! She is a freshman and doing AROTC. She texted me earlier to tell me “she had a great ROTC review” and that her squad leader “sent it up.” She seemed pleased as she is a fall sport varsity athlete so it’s been very...

    Room and Board

Also research crosstown schools as well. My daughter is an AROTC scholarship recipient at a cross town school but her university pays $8k a year toward room and board. Her school happens to have NROTC on campus but crosstown opportunities for AROTC and AFROTC and the school gives ALL ROTC...

    Sports in ROTC

My DD is a contracted MS1 and playing women's soccer at a top D3 program. She spoke to both the battalion and to the soccer coaches prior to committing to either at her university of choice. The soccer coach has three women who do ROTC in each Army, Navy and Air Force and they all work it out...

    Earning scholarship before school acceptance

My DD did this exact thing. She earned scholarships to all three branches and was selected before early admissions decisions were made. She did let the school of her choice know she received a full scholarship (theough the rotc coordinator who spoke to admissions on her behalf) and it was...

    4 year national contracting arotc

Okay, so my DD asked her Scholarship coordinator at the AROTC battalion, and he said it will be 2 minutes for pushups, 2 minutes for situps, and a timed 2-mile run. The Army standards by age will be used.

    4 year national contracting arotc

My DD told me that her ROO said that she had to pass the physical test once arriving on campus, to contract this fall. Is this different than the physical fitness test she did to apply to ROTC scholarship? I have been looking around the forum but the terms seem muddled and the test may (or may...

    Tooth extraction question

Yep! I’m a physician. But not a dentist. This is not a “leg amputation needed now” scenario but more curious, based in DoDMERB terms of what the implications are for a take-care-of-this-now-or-later-or-maybe never are. And the effects on scholarship in these scenarios. My position is wait and...

    Tooth extraction question

Thank you for your prompt response. When you say overrides ROTC, what does that mean more specifically? I apologize we do not understand entirely. Would she lose her scholarship?
