    Math Measuring Stick

You have plenty of time to get it up. I got 550 my first time, and the second time I got a 660. Obviously the math is a big part of it, but unless you're going for a perfect score, the national scale does have a big part on how well you will do.

    CABS worries

Just an update, I decided to go ahead and do them and they weren't that hard at all or very time consuming either. @mhc, I know after I finished the precalc a message said I did "excellent" and then forwarded me on to the calculus, but I didn't see anything about my scores for calculus. I'm...

    CABS worries

Yeah, Pre-Calculus and Calculus I validation's are on CABS. If you get a certain score on Calculus I, you can validate Calculus II later in the summer (don't think it's during Plebe summer)

    CABS worries

As some appointees know, about a week and half ago, USNA sent out the PTR packages with the CABS email to among many other things, validate math courses for next year online. While I've taken the advanced math courses in high school (currently in AP calculus as a senior) I'm still worried about...

    Senior Class Schedule

Definitely take Physics. However, if you like economics as I do (very useful), I would drop AP Stats. Truthfully, AP Stats is a BS AP course.. one of the regional directors I met at USNA summer seminar said it barely even matters, especially if you're already taking AP calculus. That's just...

    Midyear/Semester Grades

I was wondering the same thing, thanks for posting this. And to C.steve.. I kind of wish I knew too. My grades aren't slipping, but second semester is going to be difficult to stay motivated. I can't imagine USNA taking away your appointment though unless you reallllllly let it slide, like...

    Hearing back after Appointment

Hey everyone, I received my appointment to USNA Oct. 30th, and within about a week I sent in my forms for accepting the appointment.. Since then, I haven't heard anything back from the Academy, so I was wondering when (if ever) does the Academy send you further information on I-day...

My Essay- Anyone want to critique?

I know you said it's too late for you to retake the SAT/ACT, so I'm not trying to rub it in, but for anyone else who is a junior and hasn't taken the tests... I took the SAT last May, which happened to be the night after prom, not just for my school, but for a lot of others. I thought I did...

    AP Test Scores for Admission?

I took 3 AP classes my senior year. My thought behind them was if I do well, I'll send them, and if not, I won't. I got two 5's and one 4 so I sent them. While I don't think they can hurt you, good AP exam scores show that you are capable of excelling in a college level course and therefore...

Eagle Scout Board of Review Tonight

When I made team captain for football after my application was done, I told my BGO and he sent it in for me. Not sure what everyone's relationship with their BGO is but it worked for me. Otherwise you could probably make a quick call to admissions. I also got an email a week or so later (I...

    Naps "free Time"

I live a few miles north of NAPS, (the other end of the island, you'll find out when you go) ,anyway, I see NAPSTERS out in Newport and Middletown pretty often like at the movies, or in downtown Newport during the summer. A kid I knew went there and he said he got pretty decent amounts of leave...

    Workout Suggestions?

I recently ordered the p90x. I received my appointment in October, so i've been thinking about how to get ready for a while. A family friend of mine said "all I could think of doing p90x was that this was worse than plebe summer".. I've been doing some research on it and it kicks your butt...

    Who has applied?

Hey everyone, I'm a candidate for the class of 2015. Was just wondering how many people are already done with their application. At the Summer Seminar, I was told to apply as early as possible in August, any idea on when in August they begin to look at applications? I'm nearly done with mine...

    NASS 2010 Acceptance Thread

I think I'll be fine on most of it. I have no problem with pull ups, push ups, sit ups, I throw in track so I'm assuming the basketball throw will be easy, and I've done the shuttle stuff before for football. Only thing I'm worried about (like most people) is running. Unfortunately, I broke...

This is true, my dad has a friend who's son wanted to go to the academy, but didn't get an appointment. Come I-Day he showed up, and there was several people who accepted the appointment but didn't show up- they took him. Not the typical way of getting in, but he's in nonetheless
