Their loss indeed. I've been interviewing and hiring candidates for many years. I never put much store in GPAs. A 5 year successful career in the Service goes a long way, at least for me. I'm betting you landed in a better place.

I don't disagree with you, but I would add that there are lot of great kids from all over (I realize you weren't trying to imply only TN). My plebe has made friends with midshipmen, male and female, from Georgia, Florida, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Maine. I've met them...

My daughter ran a lot for all her sports in HS. We made sure she had good, well-fitted shoes recommended by a local running store. She ended up using what was issued. LOL.
