West Point football players are identified as six Spring Breakers who overdosed on fentanyl-laced cocaine in front yard of their Florida vacation home

It is just a few. The ones who don't follow the rules they signed up for don't make the cut. Heartbreaking at times especially for medical failures. You don't read about the good ones. There are many amazing good ones. They know goals, responsibility, their jobs and duty. When they are needed...

West Point football players are identified as six Spring Breakers who overdosed on fentanyl-laced cocaine in front yard of their Florida vacation home

We do have to get all the facts. But Cadets are not kids, sorry. It does not cut it at all that they are acting their age. Officers/Cadets must be held to the highest standards. That is because they can be sent to the most God forsaken dangerous places on earth responsible for the lives of...

West Point football players are identified as six Spring Breakers who overdosed on fentanyl-laced cocaine in front yard of their Florida vacation home

It is a sad reminder that a poor choice can destroy your life. Probably another lesson is you need to keep your self away from potential problems. Maybe renting a party house with a group of friends is not a good idea if you are striving to be an officer. Another is that misconduct is something...

Citadel: Why So Few Generals and No Medal of Honor Graduates?

Not just combat. There always danger in most things military. Training can be deadly. Son was playing opposing force against 101st Airborne when two chutes did not open. Coast Guard ventures out there everyday sometimes in storms more terrifying than a horror movie. Pilots deal with some...

Citadel: Why So Few Generals and No Medal of Honor Graduates?

MOH at colleges - WOW. Serve your country. You do what is asked and then some. I think the goal you should hope for is to have a long life and and avoid the dangers the MOHs faced. I know a few 20 something heroes that did not have a long life. Very sad and very grateful to them.

USCG Adak, 9/11 Hero Ship, to be Sold to Indonesia!

I keep thinking about an interview with a veteran from WW2 who served on the Enterprise CV-6. They were discussing on the program the time in the 1940s when Halsey and others were trying to save the ship as a museum. Personally he did not want kids playing or people partying on places on the...

USCG Adak, 9/11 Hero Ship, to be Sold to Indonesia!

You are absolutely right. It's not just raising the funds but the yearly costs thereafter. You need a lot of public support. like the Intrepid in NYC. It was initially funded by Zach and Elizabeth Fisher. He was a real estate developer who had supported the military for decades. In 1982 he gave...

USCG Adak, 9/11 Hero Ship, to be Sold to Indonesia!

Ships (Except the USS Constitution) don't serve forever. The names do live on. Below is the Heritage of the name of the USS Enterprise. Looks like the Space Shuttle Enterprise is excluded but that was not a Navy Ship. Maybe the US Space force will name one of their ships Enterprise in the...

    Cost at Norwich

Great responses. The greatest concern is the first year. Take a schedule on the easier side and apply your self to get really good grades. Stay away from Quantum Physics/Quantum Mechanics III Freshman year. Really work hard for every test and assignment. Manage your time wisely. As with any...

Story Time: Famous People You Found Yourself With

My son's High School occasionally brought in famous people to speak to the student body. One day they brought in Rafael Palmeiro, Cal Ripkin Jr. Tommy Lasorda and Hank Aaron. My Son was never into or interested in baseball. He had a free period before the assembly and was cleaning his locker...

    One Team

Seeing some posts highlighting bad behavior at certain schools. Try to game another for what? Well bad behavior, get used to it. Some young adults have a tendency to get into trouble. Sometimes some make really bad decisions. The purpose of officer training is to enable the recently commissioned...

Mayor Bill de Blasio calls it ‘inappropriate’ Planned 9/11 military flyover

This thing is just driven by certain people who actually dislike the military. It has nothing to do with Planes flying over. If you live anywhere in the NYC Metro Area in normal times there are so many planes in the sky. JFK, LaGuardia and Newark not to mention dozens of smaller airports. Ever...

Mayor Bill de Blasio calls it ‘inappropriate’ Planned 9/11 military flyover

Mayor Bill de Blasio -Worse mayor of any city since Nero. He is not worried at all about the 15,000 vacant apartments in NYC or the tens of businesses that have closed for good. He ignores the surge of crime to 1970s levels. He does has to chime in on this. As a person who lost one quarter...
