Why did I think LTC was a mandatory part of the ROTC, and is used in scoring/deciding what branch you choose?

I did a visit to pennsu a few months ago, and there was one thing I noticed (or for that matter didn't notice) is that by looking at all of them, there was no way to tell who had the scholarship and who didn't. They all were pretty much the same, just some didn't pay tuition and got a nice check...

Probably won't hurt. When I did an AROTC visit at a school, I sat in at an Army 101 class, and the guy sitting next to me had an air force tab on his Air force back pack, aka he was enlisted in the air force before doing ROTC.
