DS has received an email from his designated DoDMERB representative and requested a handwritten statement and/or documentation related to his injury. Is this the standard way of requesting AMI? Just want to verify the method.

Response from anyone would be appreciated. I understand reaching out to DoDMERB contact to inform, but does DS need to reach out to USNA as well or does DoDMERB do that when he reopens his medical?

DS received his USNA appointment and is dealing with a reportable injury. What is the process to reopen his medical and get a waiver going? Thanks in advance for any direction. @justdoit19

@justdoit19, thanks for the reply. Copy all. I also had my son talk to his BGO to give him a heads up. I am sure the BGO has some tribal knowledge and can calm my son down. I am used to having all the answers for him regarding Navy, but the longer I get from retirement, the less I know.
