    Sleep Help?

I've found that coffee and mid-day naps are the best way to compensate for the fact that it's very difficult to get a good night's sleep with PT the next day...Just gotta tough it out for the week and look forward to (hopefully) getting the chance to catch up on sleep during the weekend.

    NROTC Book Stipend

Hey All, So I wondering how the NROTC Book Stipend worked... If we're on scholarship, do we pay upfront for the books and the Navy reimburses us? If so, what's the amount we're given each semester? Thank you you for your time. Josh

    AFROTC Chances of Scholarship

Yes. Like I said, my run in December of 2010 was 12:48. Since then, I took some time off and traveled abroad for 4 months so I couldn't really start a physical fitness program. I started seriously prepping when I got home on June 1st and my current 1.5 mile time is 11:10... If you commit, you...

    AFROTC Chances of Scholarship

At the time that I applied for AFROTC I was also pretty out of shape. I had similar stats to yours and got a 12:48 on my 1.5 mile. I was still awarded a Type 7 scholarship. The way it was explained to me, the results on your physical fitness test matter very, very little compared to everything...

    "Best" major for Army ROTC

I'm starting NROTC this fall and I'm majoring in "Quantitative Economics" or as my school calls it, "Economics & Mathematics." I eventually want to end up in business, possibly pursuing an MBA (either during or after my military service) and I've been told that econ/math would be a good...

    Majors

I received a Tier 2 NROTC scholarship this year and I had a similar problem. My intended major was and still is Quantitative Economics however on the application itself I couldn't find it on the drop list. I just chose a different tier 2 major (I think physics) and it all worked out the same...

    Good military books to read

Hey everyone, Just to give some context, I have just graduated high school and I have received an NROTC scholarship that I will use next fall- I'm still not sure where exactly I'm going to college. That being said, I decided it would be a good idea if i buffed up on military (specifically...

    ROTC vs Study Abroad

I was considering taking a gap year off after high school and traveling but ultimately I decided that, being an officer in the Navy, I would have ample opportunity to travel the world and experience new things. I would say that the same goes for studying abroad. Being an officer in the...

    Columbia University ROTC Announcement

I've always said and I'll say it again that it's one thing to criticize the government and the military action that it takes, but it's completely inappropriate to criticize military members- especially those wounded in service. These kids are dumb and ignorant but, hey, what can you do?

First ever US veto in the UN Security Council

I can state my opinion to this debate with a simple metaphor: If the United States and Mexico were at a century long conflict (mind you, with the United States really being the side in powers), and Mexico demanded that Americans could not build communities in Southern Texas for it would be...

    Commissioning Schedules - NROTC

I would call the unit at Penn State and talk to somebody over there. Give them your nephew's name and they should probably be able to give you the answer you're looking for.
