I agree. that was definitely a factor when choosing a college. Right now my parents just can't afford to send me to a "good" college. The Academy is a great place to get an education and you get to have an amazing life serving your country afterwards...looking back at it, its really one of the...
message me! I gotta facebook! i would love to know some people around the country before I got there. It might make the initial shock more bearable. haha
Man this made me laugh so hard! I have an appointment and I cannot even wait for the Parent Weekend at the end of the summer; it's a little weird thinking that far ahead since I have my parents here at home at all times. But I love my mom so much and I cant even imagine how the "30 hours" will...

Hey I was wondering what happens to money that you get from local scholarships. I was talking to my BGO and he said that there was a fee whenever you show up on I-day, he described it as a very small investment for a much bigger future. My parents want me to get as many scholarships as possible...
I totally get what Whistle Pig is saying. My sister and I have a great relationship, and apparently that is a rarity because so many people are surprised to hear that I am very excited when she visits (she lives about 2 hours away from me).
Congratulations, CandidateElias15!!!! I'm waiting for a nomination from my MOC right now, and I have an LOA. You definitely DIDN'T get lucky, your profile is amazing, and I'm sure you interview very well. congrats again!!!

No I haven't, but my BGO called me and told me I was triple qualified. I never got a letter, but according to this forum, sometimes, letters dont always go out, so I'm not really stressing about the 3Q letter too much.
They started one a while ago, its just that people hadn't been posting anything on it, so it made its way back in the list.

I have a 690 math and a 650 reading. and I have tried the ACT, it was early in my junior year (before trig) and I got a 28 (not good at all). but I was thinking about just focusing on ONE test. is that wrong?
My BGO just told me yesterday that I was triple qualified, and I was just wondering if I should keep retaking the SATs. My math and reading score is a 1340 and I'm signed up for the test in december. I was just wondering if I should sign up for the january test too.
I know you weren't doing this to make me scared...but I really am now. Your son's application sounds a lot like mine. I have a plan B, but it's at a civilian college, and I really don't want to go to it. Waiting is probably the worst thing in the world! I wish we could just find out the outcome...
What does "principal" nominations mean? Is it just the people that the MOCs like the best? Is there any way that we can find out if we're one of these lucky people?
