Mongo...I am sure you are correct about what it is going to take for him to be a successful Naval Officer...he has certainly been spending every waking moment since I-Day out of his comfort zone and I know he is better for it. What does this have to do with having a sponsor?

MIDNDAD...I thought you changed company/platoon after plebe summer?? Also, I thought detailers were different each year so how can they know what a particular platoon will be like during plebe summer...I have sooo much to learn!!!

congrats gabsmomfl...my DS is also Class of 2015. We are from Iowa and look forward to meeting everyone on I-Day...17 days :eek: As I have said before on this forum, I will be the one with the puffy eyes and red nose!! Enjoy these next 2 weeks!

Thanks Blackhawkmom...16 days and counting...all this is advice is really going to help me through I-Day, PPW and the entire plebe year...hard to think of all the trials and disappointments he has ahead but I guess I will just focus on the high points:thumb: One day at a time!!!

One piece of advice that I would give to your son is apply early. My DS got all of his forms, essays, CFA, medical exams,etc completed asap...he found out he had an appointment early in his senior year and it made for a lot less stress than most. I guess I am not sure that getting things in...

Keep the advice coming! MIDNDAD...what a great story...that will certainly be my inspiration for keeping on a tough face (until after he walks away anyway!) We have a good friend that is a Marine and at our son's graduation he gave me these same words of wisdom. He said that our DS will...
