    AP Scores

Does anyone know how to submit AP scores from previous years to USMA? I was trying to figure out the Collegeboard website, but it's pretty terrible. Worst comes to worst, I'll probably end up bringing a copy to R-Day, but if anyone knows how that would be great.

    Advice Thread

Sports and standardized testing; you don't necessarily have to have taken the SAT/ACT, but definitely take the PSAT if your school offers it (and practice for it if you need to). I only had one season's worth of a sport (lacrosse) and a couple of clubs when I signed up, but I had a 215 PSAT...

    apply ASAP

I would say call up your MALO or FFR about what their interview policy is; if they treat the SLS interview as sufficient, then I would recommend that you bring some kind of resume/information with you of grades, XCs, athletics, test scores, etc. It'll give you some talking points (though to be...

    Glasses or contacts at SLS?

i did contacts, though i have vague memories of hearing that if you do the chemistry workshop you have to wear glasses for the workshop other than that, contacts are fine, just make sure you can put them on really quickly in the morning.

I went for the Bellevilles; normally a 12, but I got them in an 11. I think they're pretty comfortable as is, though I'm going to go out and buy gel insoles for them.

    failure

There's nothing wrong with failure as long as you show that when you get knocked down, you can get back up and fight twice as hard. On all my applications, I marked 2 years of lacrosse (since it's a spring sport, I'm just now in my final season), and every so often in an interview I would get...

    Some schools are more challenging

I had a similar issue I guess; my high school is extremely competitive, and with an unweighted 3.87 (my school doesn't weigh GPAs), I'm roughly 30th in my "class" of 74 (my school is weird, so for all intents and purposes, there are 74 people in my class). That puts me in maybe the 60th...

    Army summer camp

I attended lacrosse camp there for a week over the summer, so I'll say what I can about that. I definitely learned a lot, and the coaches were pretty helpful. I didn't interact with the swimmers too much, but they seemed pretty happy with what they were getting out of camp. Hope this helps in...

    Teacher Evaluations/Recs?

i used a sophomore year teacher for my english rec because my junior year teacher was only willing to write a limited number (didnt quite catch that train in time) and i'd only had my senior year teacher for a couple of weeks

    Class of 2015 IPad

If the whole point of issuing iPads is to replace textbooks, wouldn't it be cheaper to just issue eReaders of some kind? I'm sure there are some mid-level eReaders that have touch screens and color displays, and they would be significantly less expensive than iPads.

    When to take CFA/DodMERB

Are you a junior? If so, you can take the CFA at SLS, or you can have a gym teacher (though not a coach) administer it for you at school As for DoDMERB, once it hits roughly June and you are a rising senior, you will get something in the mail about scheduling an appointment
